About the Role

Congo Brands is a leading health and wellness company that specializes in the development and distribution of high-quality supplements, fitness snacks, hydration drinks, and energy drinks. As a Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Specialist - Innovation and Formulation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Expertise: Provide regulatory guidance and support to our R&D team, third-party manufacturers, raw material suppliers, and distribution partners to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Ingredients and Formula Compliance: Lead the assessment and approval of ingredients and formulas to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Claim and Communication Assessments: Provide scientific expertise to support the development and approval of product claims and communications to ensure they are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Support the identification and mitigation of regulatory risks associated with product development, manufacturing, and distribution.
  • Artwork Development and Approval: Lead the development and approval of product artwork to ensure it meets regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Regulatory Roadmap and Processes: Support the development and maintenance of the regulatory roadmap and key processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Market Entry: Support the development and implementation of market entry strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Support the management of external stakeholders, including authorities and partners, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Watch: Support the collection and analysis of regulatory information to ensure compliance with changing regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Completed degree in Food Science or comparable education.
  • Experience: At least 4 years of professional experience in the area of regulatory compliance in the FMCG industry.
  • Multi-Market Expertise: Proven experience working in multiple markets and regulatory environments.
  • Scientific Expertise: Strong understanding of scientific principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
