Advanced Statistical Analyst for Pharmaceutical Development

Gi Group SA, a leading HR services and consulting company, is seeking an experienced Advanced Statistical Analyst to join their team in Basel, Switzerland.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics and a passion for working in the pharmaceutical industry. As an Advanced Statistical Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting synthetic molecule development and commercial manufacturing at one of the globally leading pharmaceutical companies.

Your tasks will include:

  • Supporting synthetic molecule development pipeline work, such as process characterization, process validation, process transfer, assay validation, assay transfer, shelf life study, etc.
  • Supporting synthetic molecule commercial manufacturing, including process monitoring, process troubleshooting and optimization, etc.
  • Collaborating with other statisticians on method development and improvement

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related field
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical methods and software (e.g., R and JMP) for the design of experiments and data analysis (e.g., linear mixed models)
  • Extensive experience in designing experiments, e.g., in the context of process characterization, optimization, and process validation
  • Expertise in analyzing and interpreting complex datasets to derive meaningful insights and support decision-making
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with professionals in chemistry, pharmaceutical R&D, assay development, and regulatory affairs
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex statistical concepts to professionals without a statistical background
  • Strong familiarity with regulatory guidelines and standards in the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., FDA, EMA) to ensure compliance would be an asset
  • Fluency in English
