About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team in Zurich. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding a team of technical professionals to support the operation of our data centers.


Key Responsibilities


  • Safety
    • Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture.
  • Data Center Operations (DCO)
    • Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to Data Center Technicians and Operators.
    • Routinely review ticket queues for large events and act accordingly.
    • Educate, train, and guide Data Center Operations Technicians in best practices relating to resolving service owner issues.
    • Manage and deliver mid-size projects.
    • Recommend, write, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and the required Service Level Agreement (SLA).
    • Manage a diverse team of Data Center Technicians with varying skills.
    • Maintain the on-call schedule, and coordinate absence and vacations ensuring 24/7 operations.
    • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency calls.
    • Write and deliver performance reviews for staff.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


  • Relevant professional qualification or degree in an IT field or job-related experience.
  • Direct people management experience and a proven track record of success in delivering projects despite competing priorities and distractions.
  • Understanding of IT Operations and Service Management practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Experience with IT infrastructure domains such as compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, cabling best practices, and IT service delivery principles and best practices.
  • Understanding of critical electrical, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), control, and Change Management Systems (CMS).
  • Prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team or product.
  • Project Management Experience.
