The Position Who We Are Pharma Technical Operations (PT) is the organization that manufactures and delivers Roche’s ground-breaking therapies to more than 120 million patients around the world. PT is involved in producing every Roche medicine – from the development process through clinical trials – and continuing through product maturity. We make our medicines at 10 sites around the world. Our organization coordinates all aspects of production of Roche medicines in all disease areas and dosage forms. The Opportunity The Global Head of Digital, Analytics & Operational Excellence (PTE) is a pivotal and deeply experienced leader and a standing member of the PT Leadership Team. In this role your mandate is to support to design the future of our Pharma Technical Operations (PT) network by building and sharing an inspiring vision that further leads the entire organization toward world-class performance. You act as the catalyst for radical simplification and transformative change pursuing Operational Excellence and pioneering new standards for excellence and innovation. You are accountable for defining and delivering a global roadmap for digital and analytics and driving continuous improvement across PT’s systems, operations & processes. This is a unique opportunity to serve the entire PT organization by creating the architecture, systems and culture that enables the network to be the best in the industry. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Digital, Analytics & Operational Excellence Strategy - Own the PT Digital and OE community and according to boards (TPC, DIB), develop and drive implementation of the global roadmap for PT digital & analytics strategy, aiming for standardization and optimization across the entire network. - Provide leadership to accelerate the Digital Transformation realization enabling PT to respond to the overall Pharma Vision. - Orchestrate the Digital Lighthouses and host agile coaches and experts for this purpose. - Drive convergence between Digital & IT/OT organizations (IT/OT reporting dotted line to you). - Lead and shape the thinking on how to ensure Data & Digital scalability from a Tech, Organizational and Compliance perspective. - Drive overall innovation successfully ensuring that PT remains a thought leader in Digital/ AI within the Pharma industry. Lean Production Systems & Capabilities - Own & drive Lean Production systems (LPS) maturity across the PT organization with clear outcomes around process robustness, more efficient operations & Lean Leadership. - Ensure LEAN and Digital Data & Analytics capabilities in support of site development. Acting as a catalyst together with your team for digital initiatives and as Master Coach(es) for PT leaders. - Lead CI initiatives and solve complex operational challenges (e.g debottlenecking, tech transfer lead-time improvement initiatives, etc.) in collaboration with the business. Leadership & Governance - Accountable for role modeling and realizing Roche’s core values, Pharma Operating principles and living Roche VACC Leadership principles (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) & Lean leadership. - Directly responsible for organizational design and implementation of Lean & Digital activities, including staffing, talent management, budgeting, and resource allocation. - Accountable for the overall budget and financial performance of the own organization. - Serve as an active & standing member of the PT Leadership team. Advocate and collaborate across the entire PT organization globally. Who You Are - University degree in a suitable technical field and many years of experience in a relevant operations context. - Extended and proven track record in leading Operational Excellence (OE) and Digital/AI transformation programs by delivering tangible results. - Comfortable in dealing with ambiguities and to challenge the “status quo”, sharing constructive feedback. - Strong operational experience and excellent knowledge in driving digital transformation in a complex manufacturing environment as well as LEAN implementation, strong solution driven mind-set. - Profound business - as well as financial acumen (architecting and delivering value/impact programs). - Successful track record of inspiring and servant leadership demonstrating innovative forward-thinking, courageousness and strategic agility. Cultural awareness both internally and externally as well as excellent communication skills across all levels. - Ability to coach, attract, develop and retain tech talents and thought leaders in Digital, AI, OE. - Powerful network/ eco-system of partners (Tech companies, universities, institutions) and the ability to build beneficial, trusted and respectful relationships.
