Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) business unit, which is part of our Industrial Division, with focus on machine builders and system integrators is an important growth driver within METTLER TOLEDO. The unit has a proven track record and offers significant future potential. To strengthen our team at our global operational Headquarters in Greifensee-Nänikon, Switzerland, we are looking for a Technical Expert Custom Scales 100% (all genders).

In this role, your responsibilities include:

- You are the focal point in the international team for all mechanical engineering and weighing metrology topics. You introduce and push new technologies in our R&D, and manufacturing processes and customer / sales / service trainings
- You conduct advanced sales and service training
- You are responsible for technical oriented sales tools, which allow consult customers on a systematic way
- You work closely together with global product management for specifying next generation of products and support product life-cycle management
- You support R&D projects and work together with the team in China on suitable solutions and you input your knowledge on modern manufacturing processes to the team
- You support our service teams at Market Organizations during accreditation processes
- You work on sustainability initiatives, which contribute to the corporate ESG goals
- You give support on technical documentation, engineering recommendations, sales literature, white papers etc.
- In this role, you will ensure a strong interaction with R&D organization in China as well as with the product owner in Switzerland

What You Need to Succeed

The following requirements are necessary for this role:

- You have one of the following degrees: Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Physics, a PhD is an advantage
- Your heart beats for mechanics and engineering. You like to be on top of technical topics with the ability to consult and train in understandable ways. You are ready to deep dive in technology and spend time to gain understanding
- Your pragmatic attitude in a technical, solution-oriented business is essential for this role
- You gained R&D or support experience within a technical, industrial field with specific areas of weighing / measurement / metrology / accreditation
- Your experience (ideally 3 years+) in technical support or mechanical R&D experience is a big plus
- Your are familiar with typical R&D tools like FEM, CAD, FMEA risk assessment etc.
- Your knowledge about metals and alloys, steel construction, surface finishes, welding processes, etc. Knowledge about metrology and accreditation topics would be a plus
- You have a good sense for different cultures combined with excellent oral and written communication skills in English and you are able to communicate in German, more languages are a plus
- You are open and ready to travel globally, up to 10%
