**Main purpose of the role**

As AR & Cash Accountant, you are a member of our Finance team. Your main responsibilities are the collection of Accounts Receivable and the delivery of accurate and meaningful reporting on AR and cash. As such you contribute to the billing process with two members of the Accounting team and are also a key contributor to cash accounting. You are in direct contact with our customers and the different stakeholders in school (Admissions, Academics and HR). You also take part in the overall Accounting by ensuring that key controls are strictly followed and cash properly managed.

**Key responsibilities**

Within the accounting department, you undertake the following tasks:
Credit collection:

- Analyze accounts receivable and deposit accounts, track payments, issue statements of account, in close relation with the person responsible for accounting for customer payments
- Oversee & record payments, being cash, transfers, LSV, credit cards- Escalate the most sensitive situations to the Senior Manager - Business Controller
- Work with business partners on accounts receivable collections efforts
- Support the AR Accountant on modifications/corrections/cancellations of invoices
- Assist the desk accountant on daily cash desk activities: customers payments, teachers’ reimbursements, questions and claims, boarders pocket money, “Accounting mailbox” management

Cash reporting & accounting:

- Prepare bimonthly aging report and action plan
- Support the Senior controller in preparing:

- Weekly cash tracker
- Monthly cash forecast
- Monthly cash capex report & accounting capex report
- Monthly revenue recognition versus forecast/budget
- Forecasted revenue recognition
- Identify areas of improvement and promote efficiency, organization, and accuracy
- Provide support and documentation for both internal and external audits, as needed
- Accounting back-up, during vacation period on billing, desk accounting, invoice entry
- Perform other related duties as assigned
**Skills and Competencies**

You hold a commercial CFC or a Bachelor in Accounting or Finance and have 5 years’ experience in an accounting department of which at least 3 years in credit collection. At ease with the usual computer tools, especially Excel, your knowledge of an ERP is an asset. Full professional proficiency in English and in French are required (C2 level).

Customer service oriented, you have excellent interpersonal skills and can adapt quickly to a new environment. You are enthusiastic for new challenges and appreciate teamwork. Conscious and rigorous in the execution of your tasks, you are organized and comfortable to work independently and manage priorities. You are good at optimizing processes and proposing ideas of improvements.
