The global Automotive SPS business director role is a new role in Automotive Coatings aimed at bringing increased global focus to deliver profitable growth for our global E-Coat and pre-treatment technologies. The position reports to the Global VP of Automotive Coatings and is a member of the Global Automotive Coatings Leadership Team (GLT). It is a pivotal position at the interface of our commercial, technical and operations teams.

The global SPS business director has the aim to establish a winning global business strategy and ongoing implementation plan to deliver profitable growth in the Automotive SPS segment, taking into consideration our market expectations and opportunities leveraging our asset base and optimising cost.

**Key focus areas include**:

- Lead the development of the strategic plan for portfolio optimization & rationalization (Preferred Product Offering) in collaboration with the product management team.
- Work with global business leaders, sales, engineering contacts and technical service teams to ensure offerings meet market needs and support growth objectives.
- Creating short term action plans to deliver on the global strategy, mobilizing cross functional teams to align and accelerate the focus areas.
- Drive pipeline growth of E-Coat and pre-treatment technologies across regions to ensure robust opportunities for sustained profitable growth.
- Leverage a one-PPG approach for selling complete coatings systems.
- Drive the deployment of effective pricing strategies leveraging value selling to maximize segment profitability.
- Interface with Industrial Segment Global Manufacturing leaders on matters related to manufacturing and supply chain capability early in the development plan for new technologies.
- Ensure build-out of quality sales collateral/tools in collaboration with product management and marketing communications.
- Initiate and lead the change management process related to sourcing and formulation changes.
- Liaise with procurement effectively to understand the dynamic of the supplier base and align on purchasing strategy (e.g. qualification of new suppliers).
- Leverage resources and gain support from key commercial and functional stakeholders to achieve business plan.
- Lead competitive landscape reviews and benchmarking programs on a regular cadence.
- Align the SPS strategy with the Sustainability agenda and related growth opportunities.

**Profile**
- Knowledge and prior experience of working in B2B marketing and business.
- Technical degree or equivalent, business degree a plus
- 5 or more years of experience in business management
- Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain fundamentals
- Customer-focused mindset
- Highly effective communications skills (verbal and written)
- Solid business and commercial acumen and strategic thinking ability (technical knowledge a plus)
- Excellent presentation and influencing skills, capable of driving change internally and externally
- Ability to work with a large degree of autonomy, capable of mobilizing actions and people across a global organization
- Experience working in a global business environment
- Ability to lead and successfully work with staff of different cultures and education
- Proven ability to achieve results through influence rather than direct management of a team
