About the team you are joining

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, Safety & Security division (OSS), the Director Airports, Infrastructure and Customer Experience will be responsible for defining and implementing the strategy on all aspects of the passenger journey. The position is also responsible for leading our activities in relations to infrastructure charges and development, driving strategic leadership and direction setting on global policies, infrastructure regulation as well as efficiency improvements reducing the cost impact, and drive better solutions for our members. Lastly, the position will be responsible for the creation of oversight data and business intelligence in relation to the performance of our airports and infrastructure, and utilizing these as part of our priority setting, advocacy and accountability activities.

What your day would be like
- Lead the team and define IATA’s long-term strategy and key priorities with short-to medium term activities
- Define IATA’s vision and key priorities for all aspects of the passenger journey and oversee the implementation, including policy development, industry standard settings, product development and implementation of best practices with respect to the passenger journey
- Define IATA’s strategic priorities and direction setting on global policies and campaigns on infrastructure charges and development, and oversee the implementation including development of policy, industry standards and best practices
- Oversee the creation and development of oversight data and business intelligence in relation to the performance of our airports and infrastructure, in conjunction with the OSS Data team; and it turn, maintaining the data ongoingly, and identifying areas for efficiency and innovation improvements (cost and operational)
- Enhance the development and promotion of the NEXTT initiative as an integrated, validated industry vision, encompassing all on-ground aspects of air travel affecting infrastructure in collaboration with IATA SME’s and ACI
- Oversee all advisory council and working group activities in relation to the key areas of responsibility
- Play a key role in the delivery of the World Passenger Symposium
- Facilitate a collaborative and coordinated work effort with passenger colleagues in Financial, Settlement & Distribution Service, Advocacy, regional colleagues, and other divisions as required
- Support the review of the Passenger Services Conference, in terms of a potential renewal in terms of how we do business in this area within our Advisory council structure
- Act as the OSS representative in terms of operational cost management as required at Financial Advisory Council
- Serve as the main point of contact for other industry associations in relation to Airport and Infrastructure in particular ACI and ICAO, and drive advocacy efforts in close coordination with the Advocacy and regional colleagues to influence policy setting and secure buy in to IATA’s strategy and priorities

We would love to hear from you if
- 15 years professional experience, with strong background and industry knowledge in airport and airline operations
- The position needs depth of knowledge and credibility to be able to lead IATA presentations with global stakeholders, the ability to negotiate and influence key senior industry stakeholders, and lead and manage multiple sub-teams within IATA
- In-depth knowledge on the regulatory / political environment on a global level is required to be successful in this role
- Ability to drive close collaboration and knowledge exchange with other IATA divisions and regions as well as external partners is essential
- University Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or equivalent, with relevant post graduate qualification preferred
- Experience of implementing projects and managing technology partners is an advantage
- Ability to work on multiple topics simultaneously in a fast-paced team driven environment
- Excellent customer and relationship management skills
- Appropriate technical skills, particularly with MS Office programs
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Travel Required: 15%
