**Strategic Sourcing Lead EMEA (Indirect) 100% / M/F**

**Job Summary**

The EMEA Sourcing Leader is responsible to define the regional Sourcing Category strategy for their defined portfolio most suitable for the region and in line with the Global Commodity Strategy. Lead the implementation of the regional commodity strategy with the 27 countries and over 50 legal entities in EMEA, respecting local diversity, needs and regulation requirements. The EMEA Strategic Sourcing Leader will be responsible for marketing regional and local agreements, drives total cost reduction and value-add creation from supply base; ensures excellent customer quality, delivery service levels and improved supplier performance.

**Your main responsibilities**:

- Ensures that all activities are in compliance with company policies and practices.
- Manages the commercial relationships with approved and strategic suppliers and builds strong partnership.
- Continuous monitoring of categories, develops and implements portfolio strategies.
- Liaises with Global Sourcing Organization, Global and Regional Category Managers, actively participates in Global Sourcing projects and initiatives.
- Reviews requisitions and aligns with other departments regarding e. g. requirements, scope of work, specifications, quantity, delivery requirements and payment terms. Evaluates, recommends and implements alternate suppliers where a savings in cost or improved delivery will result.
- Closely interacts with internal Business Partners, Legal, Compliance and Supplier Quality Assurance group (SQA) and manages internal business relationship.
- Negotiates prices and follows competitive bidding procedures when necessary to ensure the lowest total cost for specific products and materials, interacting with other departments as necessary.
- Acts as 1st escalation step for site strategic sourcing leaders and site buyers/planners
- Investigates supplier’s financial condition, competence, facilities, and services to ensure adequate supply sources.
- Sourcing system maintenance and updates to insure integrity of data.
- Leads and drives projects.

**Expected Areas of Competence**
- Manages the commercial relationships with strategic, approved and qualified suppliers and build strong partnership. Develops and implements portfolio strategies.
- Liaises with global sourcing organization and actively participates in global sourcing projects and initiatives.
- Reviews requisitions and aligns with other legal entities and departments in EMEA regarding e. g. requirements, specifications, quantity, delivery requirements and payment terms. Evaluates, recommends and implements alternate suppliers where a savings in cost or improved delivery will result.
- Negotiates prices and follows competitive bidding procedures when necessary to ensure the lowest total cost for specific products and materials, interacting with other departments and legal entities as necessary.
- Negotiates contracts and long term agreements, and establishes Frame Contracts. Closely interacts with Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Supplier Quality Assurance group (SQA) and negotiates quality agreements with the supply base.
- Leads and drives regional and local projects.
- Ensures that all activities are in compliance with company policies and practices.

**Category Responsibilities**
- Define category strategy for Indirect (Fleet, IT Hardware/software, Travel, Facilities
- and other services defined in the job description) and implement the regional strategy in EMEA.
- Align with global sourcing organisation and regional Category leaders on strategy and implementation.

**Education/ Experience Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, accounting, or other business discipline, or equivalent education combined with relevant job experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience in Sourcing/Purchasing and/or Procurement with Category Management in Professional Services.
- Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing preferred.
- ERP system experience SAP R/3 knowledge (MM) is a plus. Strong Negotiation and MS Office skills.
