This temporary position is located in the English Interpretation Section, Interpretation Service, Division of Conference Management, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management, Geneva. The incumbent reports to the Chief, English Interpretation Section.
**Responsibilities**:
Under the general supervision of the Chief, Interpretation Service and the direct supervision of the Chief, English Interpretation Section, the interpreter will be responsible for the following duties:
- Services up to seven meetings per week (exceptionally eight), usually of no more than three hours duration, of various United Nations bodies.
- Provides interpretation into English of speeches given in French and Spanish.
- Routinely covers sensitive meetings.
- May perform other related duties, as required.

Education
A first level degree from a university or from an institution of equivalent status is required.
Work Experience
At least two (2) years of professional interpreting experience in international organizations is required.
Languages
NOTE: "Perfect command equals a rating of "fluent" in all four areas (read, write, speak, understand) and "excellent knowledge" equals a rating of "confident" in two of the four areas.
