(Cen) Construction Chemicals and Coatings Researcher

Coordinate and Execute the Construction Chemicals Global R&D activities and projects by conducing all the relevant and required laboratory work towards the development of new coatings technology.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Propose research plans for the development of new polyurethane and epoxy-based coatings based on state-of-the-art literature and from internal and external experiences
- Prepare samples and formulations, perform laboratory experiments, record and interpret the data
- Compile and present technical reports in defined format, suggest next steps and new experiments or characterization techniques
- Support the raw material sourcing and evaluation of new raw materials considering Cemex Global operation and guidelines
- Support the industrialization of newly developed products and solutions
- Participate and support joint projects with other R&D Areas (construction products, cement products)
- Support the laboratories activities and organization related to construction chemicals/admixtures management and handling, following Cemex health and safety rules.

**Position Challenges**:

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s or bachelor’s degree (Chemistry Engineering, Materials Engineering, Organic or Polymer Chemistry, or related areas)
- 5+ years previous experience in chemistry or coatings R&D environment
- Technical knowledge in coatings and construction chemicals, norms and standards and testing expertise in this field is required
- Experience in polyurethane and epoxy synthesis (other polymeric systems is a plus)
- Knowledge in corrosion and electrochemical techniques is a clear advantage
- Ability to work in teams and in various project simultaneously
- Team-player, self-motivated, hardworking individual
- Good communication and writing skills in English. Other language skills are a plus;

- Raw material suppliers, providers for analytical tools and machines
- Research centers, universities, 3rd parties
