Manufacturing Innovation Lead

Your Role:
As the Manufacturing Innovation Lead you will be part of a global team supporting the entire manufacturing network and your overall focus is to design and implement innovative manufacturing processes, methodologies and equipment aimed to improve quality, costs and safety at our Manufacturing sites.
The job scope includes manufacturing innovation solutions; within sterile and solid-non sterile manufacturing, small molecules, peptides and biologics. You will interact both with global and local stakeholders and you are responsible for establishing partnership with external suppliers and Academia.
Main Accountabilities- Understand Manufacturing Sites needs by implementing a Voice Of the Customer approach- Strategically identifies assess and drives forward key innovation opportunities and successfully transitions them into the innovation pipeline- Support, facilitate and/or manage strategic and cross-functional tasks- Carry out successful development and manufacturing projects and/or implement and transfer new technologies into the tech ops manufacturing network- Perform trials, qualification, validation and improvements/robustness of manufacturing processes/technologies and/or equipment lab scale, pilot scale or full scale including writing and reviewing of test protocols and reports related to these projects- Builds and effectively manages internal and external strategic relationships and partnerships (e.g. Tech Ops, R&D, academia, regulatory, suppliers, other industries). Develops and implements strategies to leverage new technologies and science to enhance the manufacturing process and innovation pipeline. Represent Ferring Manufacturing Innovation at external bodies and context- Responsible for expanding and continuously updating a scientific knowledge base for new technologies and processes. Advises in Scientific and Business developments (including Technology, processes, Regulations, etc.)- Identify, build and structure specific area of expertise sustaining innovation, such us Robotics; individuate competence needed and driving personnel growth. Ensure GMP and EHS compliance to global policies and related local and/or other regulations
Required Education / Qualifications / Skills- Pharmacy, biology, chemistry degree or equivalent- 5-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry- At least 3 years of experience in production and/or development at a commercial and/or clinical pharmaceutical manufacturing site- Strong manufacturing process knowledge, exposure to sterile manufacturing process- Knowledge of biologic formulation and production process- Knowledge of drug delivery systems and good knowledge of Statistical Process Control- Sound project management experience, Black Belt Lean Six Sigma certification nice to have- Fluent in English, French would be a plus
