We're growing rapidly and looking for a passionate, innovative intern to join our team and connect the world to more, as Software Engineer for at least 6 months (full-time). You will be based in our Lausanne office-labs at the EPFL Innovation Park.
**WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?**:
During your internship period at Viasat in Lausanne, you will learn a lot as part of a team of senior engineers, developing groundbreaking satellite communications antenna technologies.

As an Embedded Software Engineer intern, you will develop code for microcontrollers/processors used in real innovative RF communication systems that may be satellite, airborne, or ground based for commercial or military programs. The objective of this internship is to also help with the continuous integration/continuous development efforts, helping both software developers in their day-to-day activity and DevOps engineers. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Design and development of software running on Linux-based ARM microcontrollers
- Update the build pipeline running on Jenkins to speed up builds, provide metrics into the source code, and ultimately improve code quality and team velocity
- Research, prototype and propose new methods to accelerate development of new features across all projects
- Develop browser plugins to support DevOps teams
- Leverage existing dashboards/portals (Grafana, Splunk, etc ) to create a unified dashboard for DevOps engineers
- Perform software integration, test, and verification

**WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU**:

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in the domains of Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Embedded Software experience
- Microcontroller experience
- Swiss, EU (25) Citizenship or Valid Swiss Work Permit required

Preferred previous exposure or curiosity to learn more:

- Any of the following: C/C++, Bash, Python, JavaScript, and more
- Networking (DHCP, ARP, TCP/IP, VLAN)
- Cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud, AWS)
- Linux
