Emea Therapy Area Market Access Leader

**_ROLE DESCRIPTION_**
- The Therapy Area Market Access Leader (TAMAL) for the EMEA region, reporting to the VP HEMAR EMEA, leads a team of Compound Market Access Leaders, HEMAR Managers and Strategic Pricing Managers who are accountable for delivering and executing an EMEA Market Access strategy for a portfolio of products across different stages of development, within a given therapeutic area (TA). As a senior executive within the TA, the TAMAL leads their team in building strong relationships and effective collaboration with Global Market Access to shape the global pricing and market access strategies, including integrated evidence generation plans and pricing policies that meet the needs of the region. The TAMAL takes a lead role in co-creating a compelling value proposition and collaborates with EMEA operating company leaders to ensure their team deliver a range of value tools that meet the needs of highly challenging reimbursement/pricing processes across a diverse region with complex and differing needs. The TAMAL must understand and develop insights around key payer needs of countries ranging from highly developed and sophisticated western markets, middle income countries to resource constrained emerging markets, building tailored solutions across market types. Able to master this complexity and develop strategies that will drive our business for the region, the TAMAL will be accountable for achieving and sustaining timely, optimal pricing and reimbursement for the TA portfolio._
**_KEY RESPONSIBILITIES_**
**_Therapy Area Responsibilities_**
- Shape global strategies via engagement with Global Market Access and represent “one EMEA voice”:_
- _Engage with Global Market Access Leads to shape pricing and reimbursement strategies across the TA, ensuring their team effectively represents EMEA needs. Role model effective collaboration ensuring EMEA has a strong active contribution to Global Extended Market Access Team and other key forums, such as the Global Commercial teams in collaboration with peer regional leaders such as RCSLs and ETALs._
- _Develop a deep understanding of diverse and complex market access and reimbursement processes across the region and effectively educate senior global MA colleagues on evolution of systems and consequences for our business strategies_
- _Work with Early Products Market Access and Business Development to provide timely, strategic advice in deal evaluations_
- _Play a proactive leadership role in providing EMEA Market Access input into key evidence generation plans, including clinical trial design, working with HEMAR leaders in major countries to ensure clear, consolidated recommendations are presented_
- _Contribute to and shape the development of pricing policies, providing recommendations to senior regional and global management on an optimal strategy that balances access for patients with key business goals_
- _Lead the team of Market Access professionals to create and implement innovative access model frameworks that secure pricing and reimbursement across countries_
- _Take accountability for launch readiness by deploying the right skills and competencies to deliver all needed tools, including health economic models, evidence, value messages, to countries across the region_
- Lead Market Access regional portfolio, TA strategy development ensuring strategic alignment across countries:_
- _Represent HEMAR as core member of the Therapeutic Area Strategy Team (TAST), taking a broad, strategic leadership role with a strong contribution to the creation of the overall disease area strategy._
- _Lead a team of HEMAR experts to achieve flawless execution of market access strategies for the Therapy Area, allocating the right resources, making investment trade-offs across the portfolio, overseeing, advising and providing strategic input into the development and updates to Brand Value Plans and the business planning processes for given Therapy Area. Review, challenge and shape Brand Value Plans from a market access and pricing perspective_
- _Hold accountability for managing full TA market access budget and develop a culture of financial management excellence and control. Ensures transparency and availability of budget and resource information for appropriate personnel_
- _Participate in business review processes, presenting with clarity and authority pricing and market access strategic topics to senior leaders
- _Drive innovation and identification of white space ideas, exploring new ways of working that increase quality, efficiency or reduce cost_
- _Evaluate strategy execution and performance, recommend corrective actions to achieve market leading performance and competitiveness in access and pricing:_
