National Group Account Manager On Trade & Luxury
Diageo is a world class leader in beverage alcohol, producing an outstanding collection of over 200 brands and owning the top two largest spirit brands in the world, Johnnie Walker and Smirnoff and 20 of the world’s top 100 spirit brands. Its portfolio also includes Crown Royal, J&B, Buchanan’s and Windsor Whiskies, Cîroc and Ketel One vodkas, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Don Julio, Tanqueray, and Guinness.
Diageo Northern Europe is a diverse region of 11 countries accounting for +500m£ NSV. The newly created CHAT region (Austria & Switzerland) accounts for roughly 60m£ of this with On Trade having a weight of around 45%. The ambition is to become undisputed market leader in the On Trade in both countries and to drive true leadership in the luxury category.
Top Accountabilities
Become market leader
- Set up 3-5 year On Trade strategy covering On Trade outlets, wholesalers, Cash&Carry and 3rd space. Lead the implementation by the Key Account and Field Sales teams and define the right metrics to measure success.
- Support the development of a strong activation agenda (ATL&BTL) for the channel partnering with the Head of Customer Activation.
- Lead the innovation agenda working closely with Category Marketing teams.
- P&L ownership and strong O&R management working collaboratively with the Commercial Finance Manager.
Drive leadership in luxury
- Develop an omnichannel luxury strategy for CHAT with NE lead markets and the Category Marketing teams.
- Define a specific activation strategy that targets specialty stores and luxury On Trade outlets alongside the Head of Customer Activation.
Build a world class sales team
- Being a key member of the CHAT Leadership team (CHAT LT) and ensure a strong process to share insights and knowledge across the new region.
- Develop and lead the talent and organisational capability agenda for the On Trade team in order to attract, retain and develop the best sales talent in the industry.
- Define and overlook a strong field sales coaching agenda led by the National Field Sales Managers.
- Mentor and develop talent and make a difference to the careers of future leaders.
- Build the right capabilities to win in the long term (data analytics, data insights, perfect store, Net Revenue Management and e-commerce).
- Lead a step change in usage and performance of systems in close collaboration with Commercial Effectiveness team.
About You
- +10 years of experience in commercial roles within FMCG blue chip multinationals.
- A high-reaching commercial professional who has successfully led teams in a matrix and international environments.
- Strong commercial skills, solid people management skills and a proven strategic mentality are a must.
- Proficient in English and German, French is a plus.
