**Position Summary**:
This position will have the responsibility to ensure the most optimal portfolio strategies (e.g., technology, DAS) are designed and aligned with GCSO, R&D and JSC and executed via JSC product-level strategies. The VP of portfolio strategy will drive data driven prioritization and trade-off discussions across the portfolio to ensure full alignment on key activities requiring resource and investment needs to support growth of business as well as other business dynamics. Key stakeholders will include JSC LT, GCSO - head of therapeutic areas and head of DPDS - LM and SM. Portfolio strategies will leverage sourcing guidelines made available by product lifecycle (internal and external options), ensure capacity availability, highlight risk management needs (VCRM), and position lifecycle management activities. VP of Portfolio Strategy will require working in a highly matrixed organization across Commercial (GCSO), R&D, and entire JSC supply chain, ensuring portfolio strategy is aligned with overall JSC strategy and product-level strategy driving JSC activities.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Leading a small team to develop, align, and maintain portfolio level strategies and associated investment roadmap for approval; strategies will drive actionable insights and prioritization of key activities
- Ensuring timely decisions on portfolio needs are made by partnering with appropriate groups to drive analysis and optimal recommendations for a planned or unplanned ‘trigger event’ (e.g., acquisition, Demand in pipeline needs or commercial, capacity gap, competing launches)
- Identifying and triggering network assessments where capacity and/or capability gaps exists
- Leading product and portfolio council (PPC) reviews for products and portfolios strategies, resulting in strategy alignment, decisions on product siting, product and/or portfolio investments and other needs
- Preparing escalations and approval requests to the JSC LT as needed, to align on solutions and ensure capacity is available to support the portfolio
- Supporting VCLs in product strategy development to ensure product strategies are harmonized at a technology and/or DAS level to execute portfolio strategies
- Working with DPDS and Global commercial (GCSO), driving conversations and alignment on strategies earlier in the product development process in partnership with Platform leads.
- Assessing operating model for new modalities and similarities with existing technologies within manufacturing network, and ensuring JSC responds accordingly to support.
- Aligning with the Deliver function to ensure that one unified E2E strategy is in place
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing his / her team by providing guidance and support in critical decision making and communications, leading with CREDO, Vital behaviors, and D&I principles in mind, and driving a high performing team that delivers results
- Looking across Network Strategy and Strategic Capacity planning, and shaping the processes to ensure optimal visibility, horizon and outcomes.

**Qualifications

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
- Excellent people management skills (coaching, people development, strategic workforce planning) and proven track record in building high performing organizations
- Broad Supply Chain and R&D experience preferred
- Strong business acumen and understanding of financial processes required
- Strong proven track record in product supply chain strategy design and management of this strategy through the product lifecycle
- Proven track record in leading multifunctional, ‘virtual’ and global teams to success
- Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries through influence, negotiation and partnering. Strong influencer and communicator across all levels of the organization.
- Strong written and oral communication skills (English)
