**Background**

The Mixed Migration Centre (MMC) is a global network engaged in data collection, research, analysis, and policy and programmatic development on mixed migration, with regional hubs hosted in DRC regional offices in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America, and a small global team in Geneva. MMC is a leading source for independent and high-quality data, research, analysis and expertise. MMC’s overarching focus is on human rights and protection for all people on the move. The three overall objectives of the MMC are:

- To contribute to a better, more nuanced and balanced understanding of mixed migration (knowledge)
- To contribute to evidence-based and better informed migration policies and debates (policy)
- To contribute to effective evidence-based protection responses for people on the move (programming)

One of MMC’s flagship projects is 4Mi. 4Mi is a primary data collection initiative, where enumerators on mixed migration routes around the world conduct in-depth structured interviews, focusing on protection risks and the conditions and experiences faced by people on the move, as well as their motivation for migration. Analysis of 4Mi data is disseminated through 4Mi Interactive, 4Mi Snapshots, research reports, and presentations.

**About the job**

The Information Management Coordinator (IMC) will serve as the technical focal point for the 4Mi data collection platform and data management standards and conduct analysis of 4Mi data for the development of information and research products. In addition, the IMC will support the provide technical support to the global IM network and support the setup and implementation of data collection activities of MMC Europe.

**Data analysis and dissemination**
- Conduct quantitative analysis of 4Mi data, which is likely to include descriptive statistics, and on occasion inferential statistics (see the MMC website for examples of 4Mi data analysis products);
- Support the development of data visuals (including maps);
- Maintain the 4Mi Interactive dashboard through quarterly updates, and implement changes to the dashboard structure; and
- Provide technical support in analysis across the MMC network, including training.

**Information management and data processing**
- Responsibility for the safe storage and archiving clean 4Mi data ready for analysis;
- Ensure the data collection platform is maintained and used in accordance with guidelines; contribute to the maintenance and improvement of standards on information management (file management, transfer, and storage; data export; data validation and cleaning);
- Provide technical support in the development of information management tools;
- Draft and review XLSForm surveys and maintain codebooks;
- Provide feedback on how survey/research design will impact on technical aspects of data collection, and other information management processes; and
- Oversee and assure quality of data validation and cleaning.

**Information management and analysis focal point**
- Lead in building an IMO network across MMC, which can collaborate on projects, build capacity, and share knowledge.

**About you**

**Desirable experience and competencies**
- Proven experience in information management, knowledge of different data collection methods, and ability to formulate technical briefs;
- Experience in electronic data collection: knowledge of XLSForms;
- Proven record in handling and processing large datasets;
- Knowledge of and experience in quantitative data analysis: knowledge of programs and/or programming languages for analysis (knowledge of Excel and PowerBII, and one of Python, R, SPSS, or Stata);
- Record of production of data visuals based on quantitative data;
- Knowledge of migration and displacement;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Experience of working with international NGOs;
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail;
- Good team worker with strong communication skills; and
- Problem-solving skills and interest in innovative solutions.

**Education**
- University degree in information management, statistics, or a relevant field demanding expertise in quantitative data analysis with minimum 3 years of experience in information management/analysis

**Languages**
- High level of proficiency in English;
- Knowledge of French desirable.

**Contract length**: 12 months initial contract

**Salary and conditions**: This is a national fixed period position. The position is placed on Band G non-management on the DRC salary scale.

**Designation of Duty station**: Geneva, Switzerland or Brussels, Belgium.
