- TotalEnergies installed its European trading hub in Geneva, which now bring together very large teams around trading activities: TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (T&S) and TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP).
- TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP) is the trading arm of TotalEnergies in the field of low carbon energies (mainly gas, LNG and power). As such, it operates in fast-evolving market dynamics influenced by internal and external factors that require constant adaptation and evolution. Uncertainties specific to the trading environment (volatility of prices, supply & demand mismatches) are coupled with those coming from the broader energy sector (climate change policies, changes in the energy mix, developments of new energy sources, etc). In such context, TGP helps to ensure growth and profitability to a key segment of the business in order to reach the objective of Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
- We are looking to hire our new GPE (Gas, Power, & Emissions) Shift Operator to join our GPE Operations team.**What you will do**

**Gas, Power & Emissions (GPE) Operations** are managing the combined TotalEnergies Operations portfolio from Upstream to Downstream across the logistics chain, supporting the traded commodities of the TGPL trading desks, ensuring the prudent shipping and balancing of Natural Gas molecules across European pipeline networks, and of Electrons across the transmission networks of Europe, and managing the operations of the groups’ requirements for greenhouse gas emissions in European markets 24 hours a day.
- The primary role of the Gas & Power Operator is to directly support the Gas and Power Trading Desks through the following activities:
- Constant liaison with the Gas, Power and LNG Trading Desks, Upstream & Downstream Group affiliates, Off-Shore Field Operators and external parties in the management of the physical portfolio.
- Accurate and timely notification of physical positions to all relevant Transporters, Network Operators and Thirdparties in the UK and Continental Europe via dedicated communication systems.
- Commercial Optimisation of physical positions out of office hours by Trading on electronic energy exchanges and OTC including the optimisation of contracts on a prompt basis under the direction of the relevant Trading desks.
- Monitoring of Operational data streams in conjunction with within-day and day-ahead price movements.
- Commercial responsibility for the balancing of the portfolio by reacting to changes in supply and demand and/or instruction by the relevant Energy Procurement Desks.
- Manage the Upstream Gas portfolio and other Entities for whom we act as a Shipping Agent on a daily basis as instructed and to provide balancing reports detailing this activity.
- Ensure that Entry and Exit Capacity requirements are satisfied.
- Liaise with counterparts to retrospectively trade physical gas positions.
- Analyse after the day allocation information, validate against nominated quantities and highlight and resolve discrepancies.
- Actively engaging in business developments and taking the initiative to exploit new business opportunities.
- The role is in a 24/7 shift team which is responsible for the Group Operations from Upstream to Downstream across the logistics Chain in all Traded Commodities through the TGPL Trading desks.

**Accountabilities**:
All Operations are to be carried out in a manner that complies with the rules and regulations specified by the various pipeline and grid operators, and the codes of practice as agreed by the shipping community and regulators.
- In addition acting to minimise financial penalties under all regimes in which we operate.

**Context and environment**
- The Activities are performed as a key member of an Operational Shift Team on a dynamic, open-plan Trading Floor of about 370 persons:
- Operational areas of responsibility include the major UK and European Trading Hubs, Interconnectors, Storage Facilities, LNG Terminals, Off-Shore Fields, Power Plant and Refineries.
- Significant commercial responsibility in the optimisation of the Gas & Power portfolio for all UK and European operations through working defined Shifts including Weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Working in a fast-moving and evolving environment requiring quick and efficient reactions to the movements in the energy markets and changing situations
- You have the responsibility of Operating the Company’s portfolio of physical Gas & Power contracts in the UK and Continental Europe and is a key interface between the Gas & Power Trading Desks, the LNG Trading Desk, the Procurement Teams, Back Office, Finance and Legal departments.
