- We are looking for a Contracts Lawyer to join our Legal team based in Geneva, which provides legal support to Trading & Shipping divisions at TotalEnergies.
- As Contract Lawyer, you will be closely working with trading teams and support functions to legally secure and minimize the risks of the transactions entered into by the Trading Direction. You will coordinate the various activities of Trading Division (Trading, Operations, Credit, Tax) in order to ensure a high level of efficiency and security.**About us**:

- TotalEnergies installed its European trading hub across in Geneva, which now bring together very large teams around trading activities**: TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (T&S)** and
- **TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP).**

**T&S** is a trading company in charge of all physical trading and shipping of crude oil and refined products on behalf of the TotalEnergies Company. It has been an active participant all over the supply chain as well as on the derivatives paper market in order to manage the market risk for a long time. ). Your missions would typically include the following:

- structuring, drafting and negotiating term contracts for multiple cargo deliveries and storage agreements (including contractual advice to Traders at the time of deal conclusion) for all products traded by the company (Crude, petroleum products, biofuels, LPG and/or petrochemical products), supervising execution of contracts and ensuring that all correspondence concerning contracts is dealt with in a timely manner.
- carrying out risk reviews of all tenders and drafting offers if needed, and coordinating all inputs of departments required for risk reviews (Credit / Taxes / Ops / Shipping / Demurrage);
- helping Trading Operators to draft/amend ‘spot’ contracts (contracts covering only one delivery) by giving them a legal support;
- Structuring, drafting and negotiating storage contracts in coordination with the front office and operations.

**Context and environment**
- You will evolve in an international, fast-paced and dynamic trading environment with time-sensitive, business critical activities requiring responsiveness, proactivity, strong planning and organisational skills and attention to details. The decisions must be quick and require excellent mastery of legal topics as the rapidly changing legal environment could have significant financial impacts.
- You have minimum 3-5 years post qualification experience in a Common Law and/or Civil Law jurisdiction or LLM/Master's degree from a Common Law jurisdiction, in International Energy Law or International Shipping Law, with a good command of UK Sale of Goods Law. You must have a good knowledge of the terms of delivery/Incoterms®.
- Work both as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced environment and meet ambitious deadlines without compromising on meticulousness and accuracy.
- You have demonstrated effective communication skills at all levels of the organisation and have developed strong negotiation skills, a solution-oriented attitude, a collaborative mindset, and strong pro-active skills.
- Digital literacy, good computer skills and advanced use of Word and Excel.
- Fluency in English and French (legal writing skills).
