From engaging educational programmes to its signature digital project the Homo Faber Guide and international exhibition the Homo Faber Event, the Foundation is fostering a cultural movement centered on master artisans.

**Position summary**

We are looking for a person to lead the planning and delivery of superb food and beverage offerings at Homo Faber. This role will work to ensure Homo Faber has the best possible F&B operators and outlets as part of its visitor experience offering, as well as working with the operators themselves to ensure strong commercial performance for them.

**Main responsibilities**

**Pre event (from September 2023 onwards)**
- With relevant stakeholder, design F&B offering, ensuring it is appropriate for the different audiences and visitor types.
- Work with Event manager and general contractor on the design and build of F&B spaces, ensuring all needs and facilities are planned for.
- P&L/budget planning and accountability
- Manage outreach to key F&B operators. Where / if appropriate, source and negotiate suitable partnerships with appropriate F&B operators. Same for F&B suppliers.
- Manage supplier tendering process for F&B operators
- Ensure F&B offerings at Homo Faber include a range suitable to all different audiences (e.g. travellers and tourists, locals, art collectors, HNWIs, small groups, Maison VICs, special event attendees)
- Work with catering suppliers and F&B operators to devise delivery plans for events including logistics, menu offerings, reservation system where appropriate, staffing plans, and COVID contingencies.
- Work with F&B operators on pricing and commercialization of F&B at the event, and input into F&B operators’ business plans to contribute to successful financial performance of F&B outlets.
- Devise and implement marketing and promotion plan for F&B outlets, working with the event team

**During event (August/October 2024)**
- Work with Event Manager and General Contractor to monitor build and installation of F&B facilities
- Lead the daily management of all F&B providers on site, and work with F&B providers in the event any adjustments are required.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders for VIP and banner events requiring F&B provision, and ensure successful delivery of F&B
- Quality Control and monitoring as needed during the live event

**Post event**
- Assist and support the Head of Guests experiences in closing the Homo Faber Event budget and accounts
- Assist and support the Head of Guests experiences in putting together feedback, learnings and recommendations for the next edition

**Required Skills**:

- It is essential that this person has direct experience of managing F&B outlets - either in an environment such as a hotel, or a live event or high-end fair or festival-type environment. Must have track record in F&B from the same or a similar universe to that of Homo Faber.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people, including General Contractor, Foundation staff, Catering Operators.
- P&L / budget management
Must be flexible, practical, and have a problem-solving attitude and approach to work
- Must have experience of working and performing under pressure
- Fluent in Italian and English, French language abilities would be a nasset.
