**Director of PPI Business Systems (Operational Excellence)**
Europe - Remote

The Director of PPI Business Systems, PSG CTD EU is the ambassador of Operational Excellence within the European-based operations of the Clinical Trials Division (CTD EU) in the Pharma Services Group (PSG). This position drives strategic change across the network, supports growth, and leads process improvement initiatives leveraging on Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Continuous Improvement Business System (PPI) framework.

**How will you make an impact?**

You will partner with business leadership to establish multi-year strategic roadmaps to facilitate cultural transformation and achieve objectives for each of the targeted sites. As a change agent, this position creates and implements plans that enhance employee engagement and helps move strategy into action to continuously improve, sustain, and scale business process. You handle an active funnel of productivity projects for impact and schedule and drive higher proficiency and faster adoption of continuous improvement practices and behaviours by all employees. The team you lead is key to the operational and financial performance of the sites and value streams.

This position will be remotely located in Europe, need ability to travel regionally and globally +50%.

**What will you do?
- Strategy Development and Deployment: Develop the division’s continuous improvement PPI strategy and deployment plan, working with leadership teams to identify transformational opportunities to improve the business.
- Site Engagement: Become the trusted partner of site teams, coach and develop their competencies to drive continuous improvement mindsets and behaviours from the leadership down into the organization. Work closely with site and above-site functions to coordinate implementation of PPI within the sites and collaborate with site expert teams to ensure success.
- Change Management: Build relationship with leadership site teams to align business objectives and priorities, develop and execute sustainable process improvement programs and ways of working.
- Developing Talent: Provide support to develop lean expertise and capability within the organization at all levels. Improve the decision-making model and problem-solving capabilities within high performance teams to increase autonomy and the pace of change.
- PPI Business System: Provide ongoing Lean support to multiple teams. Work with the expanded teams to develop/promote/standardize the Business System further. Lead/work with functional teams to streamline processes to improve the customer experience, enable profitable growth, and become more efficient.
- PPI Steering Committee: Prioritize improvement opportunities and develop site deployment plans. Design and provide governance of improvement programs to track progress, embed process excellence knowledge, and recognize and reward employees for their contributions in resolving business challenges.

**How will you get here?**

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, operations or business, with evidence of operational, leadership, or professional experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience
- A Lean Expert with extensive experience (10+ years of experience preferred) and a ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful TPS-based business systems including elements such as:

- Lean Leadership (Daily Management, Leader Standard Work, and Gemba Walks)
- Strategy Deployment and Value-stream mapping
- Kaizen events on standard work, cell design, process and product 3P, Value-Analysis/Value Engineering, error-proofing, material flow, Heijunka, and Kanban.
- Expertise in problem-solving utilizing a formal program/process
- Proven track record for developing, training, and coaching teams.
- Self-directed leader with strong stakeholder development skills and ability to manage/influence across and up into the organization without direct reporting responsibility.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, excel in a matrix environment.
- Proven track record of identifying and delivering year-over-year results using metric-driven problem solving.
- Operational Management experience is beneficial.

- Broad knowledge of multi-functional, multi-site, global organizational processes and financial business methods.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization
- Able to drive strategic thinking and continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams.
- Excellent communication skills, including project management experience demonstrating strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Shown success leading cultural transformations in a big and diverse
