Lead, Climate Change Communities

The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the international organization for public-private cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
The Lead, Climate Change Communities, will support the Head of Climate Ambition Initiatives in the implementation of three flagship Climate Change communities situated within the Net Zero Pillar of the Centre for Nature and Climate:
- Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders_ - the largest CEO-led global climate alliance in the world with over 120 companies across 24 countries and 12 industries all committed to raising bold climate ambition and accelerating the net zero transition by setting science-based targets, disclosing emissions and catalysing decarbonization and partnership across global value chains. (60%)- Oil and Gas Transition Dialogue_ - a dialogue series convening senior leaders from the oil and gas sector together with leaders from the environmental and climate community to explore how to raise the level of ambition and action from the sector and to catalyze new solutions and partnerships to accelerate the transition. (20 %)- Climate Governance Initiative -_ a partnership with Cambridge University aiming to elevate the issue of climate change as a board room priority. The initiative provides guidance, best practise examples and engagement opportunities for Chairs and Non Executive Directors to improve climate governance strategies and solutions. (20%)
Reporting lines and interactions
The Lead, Climate Change Communities will work within the Climate Ambition Initiative of the Net Zero Industry Pillar and under guidance of the Head, Climate Ambition Initiatives. Internally, this person will work with colleagues in the Centre for Nature and Climate, Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains, Centre for Energy and Materials, Centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution as well as a wide range of colleagues across the Forum within the Business Engagement teams. Externally, the role requires building trusted relationships with experts with businesses, governments, international organizations, civil society, and academia to identify opportunities for innovating, shaping, and scaling collective progress.
Main responsibilities
- COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT_
- The Lead, Climate Change Communities will perform the following community management duties across the above referenced Forum communities and initiatives:_- Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders: act as community manager for our flagship CEO Climate leaders, which includes over 120 Chief Executive Officers and their Senior Advisors. With this group, build and manage trusted, long-term relationships and ensure then effective engagement in the initiative.- O&G Transition Dialogue: support the startup of building a community of senior O&G executives and leading figures from the climate and environmental communities.- Climate Governance Initiative: delivering community management support to the Community of Climate Governance Experts, a group of 25 eminent climate governance experts from business, academia and civil society.
Across all these initiatives:
- Partner onboarding: supporting the onboarding of Forum members and collaborators in the respective initiatives. Ensuring they understand the key objectives priorities and deliverables and that they have access to all relevant materials are coded into key meeting and milestone events where relevant.- Membership database management: managing of community membership lists and contacts in Salesforce, making sure membership records are up to date always reflecting the latest status of members, liaising with PEMs and external stakeholders to stay abreast of member developments and replacements.- Membership communication: in charge of preparing and executing information dissemination to community members according to the Forum´s principles, including PEM-checks, dissemination of updates and relevant materials, invitations to community meetings, management of information ahead of key milestones and Forum events including Annual Meeting, Sustainable Development Impact Meetings (SDIM), COPs, etc.- Community session design and delivery: manage all key CEO and senior advisor sessions, CEO level events and virtual meetings during the year. This includes but is not limited to the bi-monthly meetings of the Alliance Co-Chairs, regular meetings and workshops of the Alliance Senior Advisors, bi-annual meetings and regular Alliance team-meetings. For O&G initiative this includes supporting the design and delivery of the dialogues of the initiative and for Climate Governance Initiative supporting the design and deliver of the meetings of the Community of Climate Governance Experts.- External communications support: work closely with the Net Zero Pillar Communications Lead to support externa communications activities related to primarily the Alliance of CEO Climate L
