**BACKGROUND**:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is among the world’s leading nonprofit humanitarian relief and development organizations. The Crisis Response, Recovery and Development Department (CRRD) leads IRC’s work in 40 crisis affected countries around the world. With an annual budget of approximately $700M, and over 24,000 full-time and auxiliary employees, CRRD delivers high impact programming to improve outcomes for over 34 million people affected by humanitarian crises around the world. Working in partnership with other departments across the IRC, CRRD leads the delivery of our organizational mission of helping those whose lives have been shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control over their lives.
The Change Management Lead is tasked with stewarding a people-centered change management process for Regional & Technical Alignment. You will also serve as a strategic thought partner to Technical Excellence Leadership on team culture in accordance with results from the IRC People Survey.
**Major Responsibilities**:
**Technical Excellence Change Management**
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the structural change management process, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Develop change management strategies and plans to foster employee engagement, and ensure smooth transition during the structural change process.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels to inform and engage stakeholders at all levels regarding the purpose, benefits, and progress of the structural changes.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Core Working Group and Advisory Group to advance the change process at pace.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change management initiatives, measure progress against established goals, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Identify and mitigate risks and challenges associated with the structural change process, proactively addressing any issues that may arise.
Support to Technical Excellence Leadership Team
- Work with Director, Strategy & Performance to identify, track, and document key strategic internal and external meetings, ensuring that key action points are communicated and follow up occurs
- Guide Technical Excellence team members to work with internal experts across departments
- Deputize for the Director, Strategy & Performance as needed
**Strategic Initiatives**
Lead on strategic initiatives as identified by the VP, Technical Excellence and Director, Strategy & Performance. Examples might include:
o Identification, tracking, analysis, and presentation of Technical Excellence organizational performance data, including the development of a “Technical Excellence Score Card”
o Support the development of sector strategies
o Conduct research and analysis to support the strategic aims of Technical Excellence
**Job Requirements**
**Education and Experience**
- Post-graduate degree or equivalent experience in relevant field.
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience including at least two years strategy or organizational change experience.
- Familiarity with Technical Excellence and the Crisis Response, Recovery and Development department highly preferred.
**Demonstrated skills**
- Ability to support senior management and work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to manage and work through change in a proactive and positive manner.
- Experience working well with colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Interpersonal communication skills with clear and concise communication.
- Organization and time-management skills; proven track record to prioritize and deliver on time.

- Ability to structure and creatively resolve sophisticated problems.
- Ability to respond enthusiastically and positively to ambiguity, resilient in shifting priorities and setbacks, and comfortable with analysis and solutions. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
