Position Overview

The Director of Operational Excellence and Effectiveness (OE&E) will work closely with the VP Sales & Marketing and the Commercial Management Team to help implement programs, unlocking product value and enabling business growth with focus on business performance.

He/She will support initiatives that drive effectiveness of the commercial organization and will champion efforts to improve execution.

Director OE&E will be a key member of the commercial leadership team and will report to the VP Sales & Marketing, International. The place of work could be remote (in one of the European Exact Sciences direct markets).

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following 3 pillars:

- DRIVE EXECUTION
- Ensure correct prioritization of the sales growth initiatives and ensure the sales organization has the processes & discipline in place for successful execution.
- Conducts commercial assessments and support VP Sales & Marketing in driving business reviews and forecasting/Annual Operating Plans/Long Range Plan processes.
- IMPROVE EFFECTIVENESS
- Drive projects to improve effectiveness of the commercial processes, ensuring alignment with business priorities (with focus on effective use of promotional programs/tools, sales force effectiveness and key Account Management).
- Act as an advocate for data-driven decision making, use data to provide insight to support investment decisions to drive growth and support sales team in identifying proactively sales performance issues to be managed with ad hoc recovery plans.
- Support programs that enable customer-facing teams to execute the sales initiatives more effectively in terms of revenue performance.
- SUPPORT COMMERCIAL EXCELLENCE
- Work with Marketing and Country Managers to coordinate the implementation of internal and external training programs for the Sales force also driving further development of the Key Account Management skills (to engage both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders).
- Develop and manage an effective Incentive & Compensation plan working closely with Sales Operation team and corporate team.
- Support Country Managers in defining the SFE targets, ensure a correct execution of the targeting & profiling strategy and help the organization to understand the value of the Veeva tool to support sales planning.

Skills and Travel Requirements
- Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to all levels of management including senior leaders.
- Excellent teamwork and interaction skills to lead cross functional teams and interface effectively with internal partners (commercial team and enabling/supporting functions), Company Executives and outside stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational/project management skills. Ability to multi-task multiple projects and deliverables at once. Strong initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability. Sense of ownership in driving projects to completion.
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple competing priorities within and across multiple projects at the same time.
- Ability to simplify complex data and to translate data into actionable outcomes.
- Experience in a matrix team environment using a structure approach.
- Very good commercial excellence and process management skills
- Sound understanding of Financial business drivers and strong analytical and project management skills
- High level of operational experience.
- Used to working with high workloads and time pressures.

Minimum Qualifications
- MS or MBA required. Advanced degree preferred (PhD, MD, Pharm D or equivalent). Technical background (chemistry, biology, biotechnology, or similar) is a strong plus.
- 10+ years experience in a commercial role.
- 5+ years leading others in direct line management, matrix situations, or project teams.
- Computer skills: MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel spreadsheets) expertise, databases, familiarity and use of Internet/World Wide Web, presentation development skills.
- Fluent in English knowledge of German and/or other European languages is a plus.
