The Head of Media Relations is responsible for leading the ABB’s group media relations and crisis work, in line with the business strategy and the communications strategy and plan. The Head of Media Relations serves as the primary company contact for Tier one media outlets globally. Reporting to the ABB’s Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, the Head of Media Relations is a member of the Communications Leadership Team. This position is based in Zurich.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Media relations and crisis communications: provide leadership and best practices in media relations and crisis and issues communications, define strategy and support implementation across the organization. Set the policy and guidelines for media relations and crisis communications across ABB.
- Manage ABBs tier one media relations with the aim to build trust in ABB’s management and understanding of the company’s strategic direction.
- Manage issues and crisis communications including training.
- Advice and support Executive Committe members and other key company spokespersons: provide key ABB executives and other key company spokespersons with dedicated training, communications materials including briefings, presentations, and speeches.
- Quarterly, Annual and Sustainability Reports: serve as the project lead for the production of ABB’s Quarterly Reports and Annual and Sustainability Reports (Integrated Report) and act as the key interface for other corporate functions, such as Investor Relations, Finance, Strategy, Legal and Sustainability.
- Lead and develop team and function: lead and develop a team of communications specialists and actively contribute to the development of Corporate Communications and the whole Communications function across all of ABB.
- Network and collaboration: build a strong network across the ABB Communications community to aid alignment across the organization and transfer of best practices and actively contribute to cross-business and cross-corporate functions communications projects.
- Collaborate with other leaders and teams in ABB Communications to ensure communications excellence, relevance and consistency between internal and external messages and across all communications channels.

**Your background**:

- Experienced media specialist/journalist with 15+ years of experience from working with media relations in a large international company, preferably in a decentralized organizational model.
- Extensive personal network among relevant journalists.
- Strong strategic mindset with ability to navigate complex environment. Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
- Interested in the business and driven by contributing to company success.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Solutions oriented mindset, structured, gets things done and on time. Structured, gets things done and on time
