**The Opportunity**

The position of **Lead Counsel for **is a vital role within the **Gastroenterology (GI) **business unit.

Here you will help Takeda realize our guiding principles of encouraging ethical behaviour and shared responsibility among all employees. This in turn empowers Takeda’s unwavering commitment to patients.

**Responsibilities**

1. Be an active member of the EUCAN-Portfolio Pipeline Team, a team of internal lawyers advising on all legal matters relating to the launch and commercialization of medicinal products in the Headquarters Europe-Canada.

2. Acting as the as the dedicated lawyer for the GI/GI rare commercial franchises and providing end-to legal support to the HQ commercial GI/GI Rare franchises including:

- Strategic life cycle management, particularly in loss of exclusivity scenarios,
- Antitrust-Sales, Marketing-Advertising, Promotional Reviews,
- Medical Affairs projects,
- Patient Advocacy initiatives,
- Regulatory compliance,
- Engaging with Senior Management and closely collaborating with IP team.

3. Responsibility for contracts with healthcare stakeholders

4. Partnering with E&C and other key stakeholders to support and foster the ethical interaction with patients, patient organizations, with healthcare professionals, governments, and Ministries of Health.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Law Degree and license to practice law in a relevant European jurisdiction;
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or Pharma/biotech, with at least 3 years of experience in roles serving as the legal business partner at a regional level
- Experience in commercial is required
- Good understanding of IP is desirable
- Knowledge of EU orphan drugs regulations is advantageous
- Broad knowledge of general commercial law and regulatory law impacting the pharmaceutical industry
- Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and demonstrate leadership both in legal and business contexts.
- Comfortable navigating uncertain situations and making informed decisions
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences.
