- As a Patent Counsel at Sonova AG, you will play a pivotal role in managing activities related to intellectual property rights. Your primary focus will be on patent drafting, prosecution, maintenance, and opposition procedures, aimed at building and strengthening Sonova's patent and design rights portfolio. You will collaborate closely with inventors, external patent counsels, and management to ensure the effective management of intellectual property.**Your Tasks**
- Drafting and prosecuting patents and design rights to enhance Sonova's IP portfolio
- Providing guidance and support to inventors in preparing and submitting invention disclosures
- Organizing and leading invention workshops and training sessions on intellectual property rights
- Conducting patent searches, preparing patent landscapes, and assessing the legal status of patent and design rights
- Managing Freedom-to-Operate investigations and coordinating invalidity and non-infringement opinions
- Reviewing and drafting IP terms for various agreements
- Supporting patent pre-litigation and litigation activities
- Supervising and reviewing the work of external counsels and instructing paralegals

**Your Profile**
- Technical background: particularly a higher degree in electrical engineering or physics
- Passed European Qualifying Exam (EQE) or US Patent Bar
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent drafting and international patent prosecution
- Experience in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a technical context
- Technical background knowledge in digital signal processing, micro-electronics, (micro) system technology, or medical technology is a plus
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art patent management systems, e.g. Anaqua’s AQX
- Experience in patent database searches and patent register queries
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Holistic thinker with creative problem-solving skills
- Quality-conscious and transparent about own work
- Excellent communication skills with a service-oriented approach
- Comfortable working in a diverse and distributed collaboration environment
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal communication in English; German is a plus
- Proficiency in Windows and MS Office, Confluence and MS Teams
