What will you do

The Global R&D Senior Manager Women’s Health (WH) will be responsible to implement the technical strategy and ensure delivery of the innovation pipeline for WH globally, through close collaboration with the Global Brand Director WH, and the regional Essential Health (EH) WH R&D teams. The role will be accountable for the definition of the technology pipeline for upstream innovations, and for orchestrating the development of HCI capabilities for WH R&D globally.

As the Global R&D Senior Manager for WH, you will support the creation of consumer-centered innovations aligned to the global brand team strategy and ensure that they are delivered on time by building new R&D capabilities and continuous improvements through digitalization.

You will support the R&D Sr Director in ensuring global x-functional R&D contribution to the BDT through playing a lead role in the x-functional R&D WH Team.

You will line manage the R&D Manager position based in Germany looking after O.b/tampons, new formats and upstream innovations, and will have dotted line reports in the EH WH APAC (India) and Latam (Brazil) teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the R&D efforts for women's health globally, reporting and being the primary support role to the Sr. Director R&D WH BDT representative.
  • Support the BDT by business partnering the Global Brand Director to deliver impactful global innovations.
  • Oversee the R&D deliverables and promote technical rigor without compromising agility in the delivery of the global WH pipeline for the 3 brands (Stayfree, Carefree and O.b).
  • Drive the creation of new R&D capabilities required to support innovations that meet and advance prototypicality in line with HCI principles.
  • Promote x-functional R&D collaboration in the WH R&D Team supporting the Sr Dir R&D.
  • Stay updated with industry and technology trends to inform product development decisions, get visibility to new technologies and define the upstream innovation strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Value team to deliver profitability including leading the R&D strategy and pipeline for cost savings.
  • Mentor R&D professionals to ensure high-quality work and continued growth and development of future R&D leaders for EMEA. Strengthen managerial skills in the WH team.
  • Provide technical expertise, problem solving for complex technical issues applying technical knowledge and experience.

What we are looking for

  • Master’s degree in science or engineering.
  • 10+ years of related experience (Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, Brand Development, R&D, Medical/Safety, etc).
  • Relevant experience in R&D product development in the area of cosmetics or commodities, eg diapers, menstrual hygiene or incontinence products, is required.
  • Track record in delivering successful innovations is required.
  • Experience working with suppliers, external manufacturing partners and in technical project management is required.
  • Experience in technology transfer and / or deployment in manufacturing is required.
  • Process development/process scale-up experience is required.
  • Fluent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Experience in different markets/regions.
