mimic is an early-stage deep tech robotics & AI start-up based in Zurich and supported by leading VCs. We provide industry workers with a helping hand for tedious manual labor tasks and mitigate labor shortages with a versatile automation platform. Our automation solutions, driven by dexterous robotic hands and cutting‑edge AI trained on human observations, bring a new level of AI embodiment to the real world. The Role Our ability to develop cutting‑edge AI relies on a constant, high‑quality stream of robot data. We call this the “Data Flywheel”: the process of running robots, collecting data, evaluating models, and deploying improvements. We are looking for a dedicated and technical Project Manager to take full ownership of these operations. You will be responsible for ensuring our robots are running at maximum utilization and our engineering and AI teams can iterate as quickly as possible. This role is critical to guaranteeing the uptime, throughput, and stability of our entire data pipeline, directly impacting the most important KPIs of the organization. What you’ll do Oversee all Data Flywheel operations, including data collection, model training, and evaluation, ensuring robot stations are never idle. Manage and schedule a team of robot operators, including their training and onboarding. Act as the key liaison between operator teams and engineering, responsible for requesting, tracking, and prioritizing fixes in the software and hardware stack to maximize uptime. Lead the planning and execution of scaling our deployed robot fleet, including at customer deployment locations. Who you are Experience in operations, project management, or technical management (startup experience is a big plus). You have a strong understanding of technical/AI development cycles. Hands‑on mindset: you’re not afraid to get into the details and make things happen in the physical world. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. You thrive in a dynamic environment. You are capable of communicating clearly and collaborating effectively with both technical and non‑technical teams. You are willing to assist with remote deployments in person. You are a fluent English speaker. Nice to have Experience in a robotics, AI, or deep‑tech startup environment. Familiarity with robotics hardware and software concepts (e.g., ROS, Python, Linux systems), as well as recent robot learning developments (e.g. imitation learning, VLAs). Working knowledge of German. You will have the opportunity to shape a robotics & AI company from the ground up.
