Purpose of the role
As an addition to our Customer Unit Market Access, based in our Citybay site in Lucerne, Switzerland, we are looking for a Specialist Market Access, Health Insurances (m/f/d) (permanent full-time contract), responsible for working on the Art. 71 process and price models, making our innovative medicine available to patients. The role will report directly to the Market Access Lead Switzerland and will be based in our Citybay office in Lucerne.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a team that directly impacts patient access to our innovative medicines, and collaborates closely with external and internal stakeholders.
We are therefore looking for fast learners with strong collaborative skills.
Position Overview
This position will contribute to our company's commitment to grant patients access to innovative medicine.
The Specialist Market Access, Health Insurances (m/f/d) is responsible for the compliant, effective and patient centric implementation of the Art. 71 process and price models. The position is within the local Swiss organization.
Article 71 of the Swiss health insurance ordinance describes the process and the criteria that allow patients to have access to life saving pharmaceutical innovations, even if these are not yet approved by Swissmedic or reimbursed through the obligatory health insurance. The efficient and compliant implementation of this process is of great importance to patients, physicians, and our company. This involves running the technical process as well as the direct contact with health insurances.
Price models have recently developed in the Swiss reimbursement system. Our company is one of the forerunners in that area. The position will support the processing and analysis of price models in the team.
For this position we are looking for a person with sound experience in the interaction with health insurances and the technical ability to support the described processes. Effective cross-functional collaboration with the finance, medical and pharmacovigilance departments will be key for long-term success.
This position offers a distinct opportunity to support patient access to innovative medicine and to be involved in the implementation of current and upcoming pricing models.
Major Activities
Access via Article 71
- Ensure compliant and effective handling of this process
- Take responsibility for the interactions with health insurances regarding individual cases
- Capture and monitor all cases in internal systems
- Interact with finance on the necessary financial measures and implications
Price Models
- Monitoring and analysis of price models
- Interact with finance on the necessary financial measures and implications
- Ensure appropriate knowledge transfer to the cross-functional team
- Process reclaims from health insurances
Expertise Required / Core Competences
Education
- Bachelor Degree or Apprenticeship in Lifescience or Healthcare
- 1-3 years in the pharmaceutical or health care industry
- Language: German is mother tongue or similar proficiency. Proficient in English. Other country languages (French, Italian) are a plus
Experience and Expertise
- Proven track record of working in a closely collaborating team
- Proven track record of working in cross-functional teams
- Understanding of the Swiss health care system
- Ability to work with databases
- Office365 proficiency with strong capabilities in Excel
- Experience in Marketing, Medical, Policy or Clinical Research would be a plus

Der/die Specialist Market Access, Health Insurances (m/w/d) ist verantwortlich für die rechtskonforme, effektive und patientenzentrierte Umsetzung des Art. 71-Prozesses und von Preismodellen. Die Position befindet sich innerhalb der lokalen Schweizer Organisation.
Artikel 71 der schweizerischen Krankenversicherungsverordnung beschreibt den Prozess und die Kriterien, die es Patienten ermöglichen, lebensrettende pharmazeutische Innovationen in Anspruch zu nehmen, auch wenn diese noch nicht von Swissmedic zugelassen oder durch die obligatorische Krankenpflegeversicherung erstattet sind. Die effiziente und rechtskonforme Umsetzung dieses Prozesses ist von großer Bedeutung für Patienten, Ärzte und unser Unternehmen. Dazu gehört die Durchführung des technischen Prozesses sowie der direkte Kontakt mit Krankenkassen.
Preismodelle haben sich in den letzten Jahren im schweizerischen Vergütungssystem stark weiterentwickelt. Unser Unternehmen ist einer der Vorreiter auf diesem Gebiet. Die Position wird die Bearbeitung und Analyse von Preismodellen im Team unterstützen.
Für diese Position suchen wir nach einer Person mit fundierter Erfahrung im Umgang mit Krankenkassen und der technischen Fähigkeit, die beschriebenen Prozesse zu unterstützen. Eine effektive interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit mit den Finanz-, medizinischen und Pharmakovigilanz-Abteilungen wird entscheidend für langfristigen Erfolg sein.

Benötigte Expertise/Kernkompetenzen
Ausbildung
- Bachelorabschluss oder eine Ausbildung im Bereich Lifesciences oder Healthcare
- 1-3 Jahre in der pharmazeutischen oder Gesundheitsbranche
- Sprache: Deutsch als Muttersprache oder vergleichbare Kenntnisse
- Gute Englischkenntnisse
- Weitere Landessprachen (Französisch, Italienisch) sind von Vorteil
