  1. Enhance and support implementation of IDMC’s grants management procedures and ensure compliance with all grant agreements and donor requirements; organise periodic performance review meetings to monitor progress and ensure timely completion of grant deliverables and milestones and identify and flag risk and potential issues in grant implementation.
  2. Maintain the grant management system/database to track progress and measure performance, keep track of donor communications and centralise grants/donor files.
  3. Draft professional donor reports for review by Head of External Relations and onward submission to donors: consolidate inputs from project implementation team, monitor and account for grant achievements, ensure reporting against indicators, activities, outputs, and outcomes.
  4. Review grant agreements prior to signing for all liability issues and ensure compliance with donor requirements on existing grant agreements.
  5. Inform on donor rules and regulations.
  6. Act as focal point for budget monitoring of designated grants.
  7. Prepare and maintain up-to-date workplans, calendars, budgets and other monitoring tools to track progress in the completion of deliverables.
  8. Monitor expenditure and review monthly budget monitoring tools.
  9. Provide operational support in relation to the procurement of goods and services.
  10. Support fundraising efforts by conducting research on key funding prospects.

CRM Administration

  1. Act as system administrator of IDMC’s Salesforce CRM, being responsible for liaising with all teams to maintain the database of contacts up to date, training staff and promoting the adoption of the CRM across the organisation, and for providing general support and troubleshooting technical issues.

If you are curious and would like to learn more about this opportunity, please see the full job description here.

What you will bring

We are seeking a conscientious and structured Grants Management Coordinator with training and experience in project cycle management and grants management for non-profit organisations. You will also have previous work experience in the humanitarian and/or development sector.

In addition, you will have:
  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology.
  3. Excellent organizational and computer skills; experience with project management software such as Salesforce.
  4. Proven skills in report-writing and document editing; experience in monitoring and evaluation or reporting against logical frameworks.
What we offer:
  1. A 6-months, full-time maternity cover
  2. Duty station: Geneva, Switzerland (candidates need to be EU/EFTA citizens or have a valid work permit for Geneva, Switzerland in order to be eligible for this role - please ensure to include this information in your application)
  3. Salary and benefits according to NRC Geneva’s local terms and conditions. This position is a grade 7 on NRC Geneva's 12 grade salary scale, with a gross annual salary of CHF 98,496.
  4. NRC is an equal opportunities employer and aims to have staffing diversity in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, and physical ability.
  5. We think outside the box, encourage ideas, and give responsibility to all employees at all levels. You will have many opportunities to be heard and take the initiative.
We are also looking for people who share our values:
  1. To be dedicated in what we do
  2. To be innovative with our solutions
  3. To act as one unified and inclusive team
  4. To be accountable to the donors that make our work possible; the beneficiaries that we exist to serve; and to each other… the members of our NRC family.

Are you interested? Please apply through our online application tool, and make sure to attach a cover letter and your CV. We look forward to receiving your application

Note: candidates need to be EU/EFTA citizens or have a valid work permit to work in Geneva, Switzerland (please ensure to include this information in your application). Internal candidates of other nationalities already working in an NRC country office willing to host this position may also be considered.

Important information about the application process:
  1. When creating your profile, include your full name as given on your passport. Complete all the system-required fields for experience, employment history and education.
  2. Submit your application, cover letter and CV in English, taking care to attach your latest CV.
  3. Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. NRC is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, so if you’re excited about this role and you meet most, but not all the requirements, we encourage you to apply anyway.
  4. Applications that do not meet the minimum standards in terms of experience or qualifications will generally not be considered. Unsolicited applications not related to this specific job advertisement will not be considered.
  5. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. We receive many applicants for each vacant position. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to give detailed feedback to applicants who have not been shortlisted.
ABOUT US

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian organisation helping people forced to flee. We work in crises across more than 31 countries, providing emergencies and long-term assistance to millions of people every year. We stand up for people forced to flee, advocating their rights. NORCAP, our global provider of expertise, helps improve international and local ability to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from crises. NRC also runs the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre in Geneva, a global leader in reporting on and advocating for people displaced within their own country.

Employment with NRC may lead to employment in or deployment to Regions, Countries, Areas or Offices that may be host to considerable health, safety and security risks. NRC takes this very seriously and we have procedures in place to reduce known risks, but will never be able to take away all risks.

NRC is an equal opportunities employer and aims to have staffing diversity in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, nationality and physical ability.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) is the world’s authoritative source of data and analysis on internal displacement. Since our establishment in 1998 as part of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), we offer a rigorous, transparent and independent service to the international community, and inform policy and operational decisions to improve the lives of people living in, or at risk of, internal displacement.

With a team of more than 30 people in Geneva and an annual budget of over 5 million USD, we monitor more than 130 countries in the world for which we provide verified, consolidated and multi-sourced estimates of the number of people internally displaced or at risk of becoming displaced by conflict, violence, disasters and development projects. We complement this global data with interdisciplinary research into the drivers, patterns and impacts of internal displacement. Using this evidence, we provide tailor-made advice and support to inform global, regional and national policy-making. Our data and evidence are published on our website and via our Global Internal Displacement Database (http://www.internal-displacement.org/database/displacement-data). Our flagship report, the Global Report on Internal Displacement (https://www.internal-displacement.org/global-report/grid2020/), published every year in May, is the world reference on IDP statistics, featuring trends and thematic analyses, country and regional spotlights.
