What you will be doing

Job summary:

The customs Brokerage specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant clearance of goods through customs import/export operations. This role involves coordinating with clients and customs officials to manage the customs process from start to finish, ensuring all documentation is accurate and in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Liaising with customs authorities
  • Ensuring compliance with customs regulations
  • Classifying goods for customs declaration
  • Calculating customs duties and taxes
  • Preparing and submitting customs declarations
  • Advising customers on customs procedures
  • Arranging for payment of duties and taxes
  • Entering charges into our Transport Management System (TMS)
  • Must stay current and understand all of our special operating procedures (SOPs)
What your background should look like

Background:

  • Previous experience in Customs procedures/Regulations
  • Customs & Trade compliance school would be a plus, but not mandatory
  • Deep understanding of Swiss Custom laws
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in one of our Local Languages (German, French, or Italian)
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Team player
