About the job

The Customer Success team is looking for a Customer Success Renewal Specialist to enhance SAS's customer retention and renewal strategy by ensuring timely execution of renewal processes and contracts. You will design and implement programs that optimize our customer relationship strategies, boosting both the effectiveness and efficiency of our loyalty and retention initiatives. Our team ensures that their customers are set up for success while optimizing financial outcomes.

As a Customer Success Renewal Specialist, you will:

  1. Serve as primary contact to develop and execute win/win negotiation strategies for complex contract renewals that optimize contract terms while protecting and enhancing customer trust.
  2. Own, drive and manage the renewals process in collaboration with the account team.
  3. Ensure successful and on-time renewals for assigned account prior to the contract end date and executing all renewal back-end work in a timely manner.
  4. Present renewal proposal(s) and options to customer and notify customer proactively of upcoming contract expiration.
  5. Partner with Account Executives/CSMs/Enterprise Negotiations, Licensing Operations and Sales Operations to fully understand and develop a clear renewal strategy for each customer ahead of the renewal date.
  6. Provide rapid, focused response to customer/CSM requests including sales processing procedures (COMIT).
  7. Identify customer requirements, uncover roadblocks, and demonstrate strong account management and commercial capabilities to drive renewal to on-time closure.
  8. Secure and validate renewal orders, driving maximum renewal and up-selling from the install base which includes confirming the delivery of quote to partners/end customer and facilitate the order processing and approval of Purchase orders.
  9. Fluent in German & English. An additional language will be a clear advantage.

Required qualifications

  1. Ideally a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical or business subject (or equivalent qualifications).
  2. Previous experience in a similar role.
  3. Proven record of complex solution selling.
  4. Negotiation skills.
  5. Understand software licensing concept procedures.
  6. Ability to work and learn independently; demonstrated ability to interact productively with all levels of staff.
  7. Understanding of strategic sales techniques and principles, specifically in the hardware and software industry, as well as selling to Fortune 500 companies and/or large governmental institutions.
  8. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements stated above.

Preferred qualifications

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of at least three industries and/or market segments.
  2. Leadership, supervisory, interpersonal and oral communication skills; demonstrated project leadership skills.
