Job Title: Gas Analyst / Junior Gas Trader

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Our client, a leading global energy trading firm, is seeking a talented Gas Analyst / Junior Gas Trader to join their European Gas team based in Zurich. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the trading team by providing deep fundamental analysis of European gas markets. This position requires a strong background in supply and demand analysis, modeling, and forecasting, with a focus on delivering actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth supply and demand (S/D) analysis for European gas markets, identifying trends and market drivers.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated models and forecasts to support trading strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze market fundamentals, including storage levels, pipeline flows, weather impacts, and geopolitical developments.
  • Provide timely insights and recommendations to traders, enhancing decision-making and profitability.
  • Continuously refine analytical tools and methodologies to adapt to evolving market conditions.
  • Produce clear and concise market reports for internal stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • 2-4 years as a gas analyst, with a proven track record in fundamental market analysis and forecasting.
  • Strong expertise in supply and demand modeling, with advanced proficiency in analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Python, or similar).
  • Comprehensive understanding of European gas markets, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks.
  • A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional ability to present complex data and insights in a clear and actionable manner.
