Volunteering role:

  • This is a volunteering role
  • Time commitment: Around 1hr/day or 5hrs/week
  • Location: remote working
Purpose


The Diversity Events Coordinator Volunteer works closely with the women++ operations and marketing team to support the organization's events management.

From setting up the online registration in women++'s events platforms to ensuring the events run smoothly on-site or remotely.


As part of the women++ team, your ideas and development are key Get to know the whole team and start discussing interesting topics around diversity & inclusion.

Tasks

What you will be doing

You will be a key team player in women++'s events coordination:

  • Creating and keeping up-to-date the yearly events calendar.
  • Collect event information necessary to set up and run the events from our partners and collaborators.
  • Setting up the events on our different event platforms: Eventbrite, Meetup and LinkedIn Events.
  • Work together with the marketing team to provide all the relevant information for promotional purposes.
  • A plus would be to help run the events onsite (Zürich) not required if based remotely.

Some events are remote too :

  • Prepare the followup information for participants.
How your role will develop during your six months of volunteering

Within three months:

  • Within the first weeks of joining the team, you will receive an overview of women++ and direct training on your role & marketing guidelines to enable your independence & own voice.
  • Get an understanding of the different initiatives in 2023 and the events planned.
  • Have biweekly meetings with the head of operations to discuss all event topics and build a weekly feedback/ process flow culture with the marketing team.
  • Coordinate the help run smooth events for women++

Within six months:

  • Support the planning and executing of one of our biggest initiatives: Hack'n'Lead the first womenfriendly hackathon in Switzerland.

Requirements:

First of all, we believe in maximizing potential through training, learning and attitude.

So, even if you think you don't have all the relevant experience but are interested in social media marketing, you may still be the perfect person for this role.


Overall, we look for:

  • Commitment to diversity, interest in new technologies and the tech industry
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) in English, and German is a plus.
  • Experience in event management, and clientfacing roles. Experience with event management tools like Eventbrite and Meetup. Experience in LinkedIn Events is desirable.
  • Ownership mentality, proactivity, reliability
