We are looking for talented University Graduates Kick-start your career with our Focus-Track Graduate Programme within the CRO division.

Our Graduate Programme supports your individual journey to unleash your full potential. We offer you three rotations in different teams, on
- and off-the-job training, and the opportunity to start building your own network. Each rotation is designed to provide you with in‐depth knowledge and a sound foundation to perform in your focus area and beyond. One of these rotations will be an international assignment, enabling you to work abroad for a period of months.

Join the CRO division and become part of the Market Risk & Product Control team in Zurich.

Market Risk & Product Control is responsible for controlling the risk of all trading and treasury activities for Bank Julius Baer and Julius Baer Group.

It assures transparency of incurred market risks and maintains an adequate risk limit framework. It is also responsible for the development of risk models and its adaptation to the changing needs.

Further, the unit maintains the market risk and valuation control framework for the Group and assures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and best practice.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

You will:

  • Assist in the analysis of bankwide risk exposure, trends and root causes in Liquidity, Funding and Market Risk
  • Develop an understanding of a wealth manager's business model and a bank's balance sheet
  • Bring in new ideas to contextualize and visualize data to facilitate understanding and decision making
  • Learn about risk management in 1st and 2nd line of defense and contribute to the execution of risk controls on all Treasury related risk management activity
  • Support projects related to balancesheet management, frontoffice trading, model validation, data handling and stress testing
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, including understanding of their daily processes
  • Take responsibility for one or more regular activities of the team such as validation of risk models, daily operations in terms of risk calculation and limit monitoring for all Treasury activities
  • Participate in new product approval processes including risk assessment, requirements specification and ensuring that internal risk models are adequate

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Master's degree from a university or university of applied sciences with aboveaverage grades in STEM fields, economics or banking and finance (graduation max. 12 months ago), applicants from other fields can be considered based on their analytic, quantitative acumen and demonstrated interest in financial markets and risk management
  • Demonstrated interest in Financial Markets and prior experience in Finance (through education or working experience)
  • Strong analytical skills, clear and structured thought processes
  • A foundation in data science and good command of MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Very good communication and presentation skills
  • Independent, resilient, and teamoriented personality
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and creative thinker, coupled with the willingness to take responsibility and to take initiative in pursuing new opportunities
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of German/French or other languages is a plus
