We are looking for talented University Graduates Kick-start your career with our Focus-Track Graduate Programme within the Chief Rik Officer (CRO) Division.

Our Graduate Programme supports your individual journey and your career development to unleash your full potential. We offer you three rotations in different teams, on
- and off-the-job training and the opportunity to start building your own network. Each rotation is designed to provide you with in‐depth knowledge and a sound foundation to perform in your focus area and beyond. One of these rotations will be an international assignment, enabling you to work abroad for a period of months.

Start date: 1 October 2023

Programme duration: 18 months

Join the CRO Division and become part of the Market Risk and Product Control team in Zurich.

Market Risk & Product Control is responsible for controlling the risk of all trading and treasury activities for Bank Julius Baer and Julius Baer Group.

It assures transparency of incurred market risks and maintains an adequate risk limit framework. It is also responsible for the development of risk models and its adaptation to the changing needs.

Further, the unit maintains the market risk and valuation control framework for the Group and assures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and best practice.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • You will be actively involved in the daily business, working with other professionals, and gaining firsthand experience. You will acquire relevant knowledge about the quantitative and qualitative aspects of Market Risk management.
  • You will take responsibility for one or more regular activities of the team such as validation of pricing models, daily operations in terms of risk calculation and limit monitoring for all markets activities.
  • You will participate in new product approval processes including risk assessment, requirements specification and ensuring that internal risk models are adequate.
  • You will also work closely with members of the Trading and Client Facing units.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Master's degree from a university or university of applied sciences in STEM fields, economics or banking and finance (graduation max. 12 months ago)
  • Genuine interest in financial markets
  • Strong analytical, conceptual skills and interest in quantitative models
  • Very good communication and presentation skills
  • Independent, resilient, and teamoriented personality
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, coupled with the willingness to take on responsibility
  • Fluency in English, other languages a plus
  • Eligibility to work in Switzerland
