About the team you are joining
The Dangerous Goods Team is passionate and highly motivated to ensure that that the transport of dangerous goods by air is safe and efficient.
Collectively the team members work with member airlines, industry and regulatory authorities to address emerging safety threats related to the transport of dangerous goods, including development of guidance material and development and delivery of webinars and in-person workshops.
What your day would be likeThe work varies based on the specific objectives that must be achieved through the course of the year
These include:
- Ensure the changes to the DGR are incorporated into the XML files accurately and to the agreed deadlines;
- Coordinate with the translators of the DGR in French, German Spanish and Russian to ensure that all required translation is provided accurately and to the agreed timelines;
- Identification and development of proposals to modify the IATA DGR, ICAO Technical Instructions, UN Model Regulations and/or the IAEA Regulations, as applicable;
- Support the Head, Cargo Safety & Dangerous Goods in the presentation of proposals to the IATA Dangerous Goods Board, ICAO Dangerous Goods Panel, IAEA Transport Safety Standards Committee and/or UN Subcommittee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, as applicable;
- Support in the development and delivery of webinars and in person workshops to promote the penetration and adoption of the DGR;
- Provide responses to technical questions and request for interpretation on the DGR through the Hot Line.
- You want to bring your knowledge and experience on the transport of dangerous goods to a global audience that will help to ensure that air transport remains safe and efficient.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with and influence senior stakeholders at international regulatory meetings.
- You can work independently or as part of a team to ensure that the team objectives are achieved within the agreed timelines.
- You are Fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of the languages of the DGR an asset.
