About the team you are joining
This includes the development, maintenance and promotion of the standards through the Cargo Services Conference, cooperation with international organizations, trade associations as well as providing support to the implementation of the standards by the industry stakeholders.
Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all topics touching the portfolio, your day would consist of the following technical, business development and project management activities:
- Lead and manage the dangerous goods and cargo safety team, providing strategic direction and support aligned to IATA's strategy.
- Secretary to the Dangerous Goods Board (DGB), lead the development of the agenda, drafting standards, resolutions, regulatory responses, run the meetings efficiently and produce the required outputs.
- Responsible for the standards published in the Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), associated publications, and guidance material.
- Represent IATA at the ICAO Dangerous Goods Panel, the UN Subcommittee of Experts, IAEA and in relevant industry forums and with industry stakeholders (in industry meetings, conferences, events, etc.).
- Ensure relationships are developed to ensure access to insights, key innovations and trends useful towards the continued improvement process in airfreight of special cargo.
- Oversee cargo training standards, and cargo updates to IOSA and ISAGO to align processes and push for efficiencies.
- Work closely with business systems and performance team to improve data collection, insights and reporting.
- Work closely in collaboration with key parties to ensure success is achieved on the above in the context of the larger global vision air cargo.
- Coordinate various adhoc project activities as required by the business.
years of professional experience with proven success as team leader; successful leadership experience in change management at organizational and/or industry level.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, ability to collaborate with people in a multicultural environment in different regions across the globe and gain consensus.
- Proven experience in dangerous goods transport regulations and operations in the air logistics supply chain (airline/forwarder/shipper etc.).
- Ability to work autonomously, organize work and team, drive multiple projects simultaneously and delivering tight deadlines in a team environment.
- Excellent written and spoken English with additional languages an asset.
