The Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English teacher for grades 11 & 12, who engages

and inspires learners through their own passion and professional practice. An ideal candidate will

have significant IB Language & Literature HL/SL and AP Language & Composition, and/or AP

Seminar experience. They will be flexible and excited to cooperate with a team of dynamic,

professional teachers to plan, deliver, and assess student-centered curriculum in a diverse

international school setting. A teacher at ZIS will hold high expectations for students , have a

mentor mindset, and be comfortable differentiating content and instruction in all courses.

Requirements: Applicants should have at least 5 years experience in teaching English, preferably

at an international school. For non-Swiss/EU applicants, extensive international experience is

required.

? Learner-centered focus, with the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs

? Teaching license including specialism, Masters level study preferred

? Documented record of excellence in teaching

? Commitment to ongoing curriculum development and review

? Experience with IB English Language & Literature

? Experience with, or a desire and willingness to teach AP Language and Composition

and/or AP Seminar

? Understanding of concept based curriculum and instruction

? Inquiry based pedagogical approach

? Commitment to ongoing professional development

? Emphasis on relationship building with students and colleagues
