**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Develops and implements curriculum in the areas of career exploration, academic planning and post secondary planning, including university, career exploration, and gap year guidance
- Develops Advisory sessions relating to College and University Guidance and Counseling
- Works collaboratively with colleagues on the Upper School Counseling team
- Maintains student/counseling records and correspondence relevant to college guidance/admission
- Writes school recommendations, coordinates teacher recommendations and training for recommendation writing/process
- Liaises with students and teachers about Predicted IB/AP Grades for Grade 12 students
- In addition to planning and hosting the Annual College Fair, uni counselors plan and organize university visits and information sessions throughout the year
- Provides information for students regarding standardized university admission tests, timeline and preparation.
- Participates in academic advising and 4 year planning during course selection process in Grades 9-12
- Updates appropriate information for the ZIS website
- Acts as a Unifrog site coordinator to streamline the dissemination of information relevant to the college selection and admissions process
- Establishes relationships and networks with other professionals in the field
- Assists in creation of annual School Profile for Colleges and Universities
- Leads regular Counselor corner sessions for parents
- Uses student data management systems like PowerSchool, Unifrog, Google Classroom, etc, to document student information appropriately.
- Uses data to provide most relevant and precise counsel to students.
- Creates and administers annual feedback survey to students at the end of senior year
- Liaises with IT Dept. to transfer student data files from College Board, IBO, etc.to Student Application Management system - Unifrog
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years experience in college counseling in an inclusive (open academic admissions) International School
- Strong knowledge of the IB Diploma and AP academic pathways
- Strong knowledge of European, (particularly Swiss and Dutch), UK, US, Canadian, and worldwide university admission requirements
- Strong knowledge and experience with student data management systems and Google Suite
- Highly effective communicator with parents, students, teachers, administrators, admissions officers
- Qualification, Certification or MA, MEd, in School/University Counseling
**Some or all of the following would be an asset**:
- Proficient German Speaker
- Knowledge of European non-university post secondary options
