About the role

We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Mobile Tech Lead to, implement, and lead the development of a brand-new mobile application from the ground up. You'll be the technical reference for mobile at Sygnum, responsible for setting up the foundations of our mobile stack, establishing best practices, and guiding a small cross-functional team through execution.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has previously led mobile teams or greenfield app initiatives, and enjoys balancing technical leadership, coding, and team mentorship. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build a secure, scalable and beautiful mobile experience in the crypto-fintech space.

Your main responsibilities:

• Own the architecture and technical vision of the mobile app from day one
• Design, build, and maintain high-quality code for both iOS and Android
• Define and enforce best practices for performance, maintainability, testing, and security
• Collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines (Design, Product, Backend, DevOps) to ensure smooth development, integration, and delivery of your product.
• Mentor junior engineers and help build out the mobile team
• Contribute to technical roadmap, planning and estimation of new features
• Advocate for mobile-first thinking and user-centered design
• Hiring new team members and assessing their performance

Our ideal candidate

• 8+ years of experience in mobile development with Swift and/or Kotlin
• Proven track record of building and releasing at least one greenfield app from scratch
• Proficient in both iOS and Android ecosystems, including app store deployment processes
• Strong understanding of mobile app security, performance optimization, and offline capabilities
• Demonstrated ownership mindset with a focus on high-quality, timely delivery
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, Valtio, Sentry, and related tooling
• Experience with common backend integrations: REST APIs, Websockets, authentication (OAuth, JWT)

Nice to have:

• Experience with cross-platform frameworks, such as React Native or Flutter
• Experience with CI/CD for mobile apps
• Knowledge of cryptocurrency, fintech, or financial services
• Familiarity with native modules, push notifications, or deep linking
• Prior scale-up experience
• Exposure to mobile analytics, A/B testing, and user feedback loops
