Your Role
As Senior Avaloq Developer Payments at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you are a key contributor to the design and optimization of Avaloq payment workflows and interfaces and provide expert guidance on payment integration, system customization, and best practices across the full transaction lifecycle.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain payment functionalities within our core banking system Avaloq
  • Develop and maintain interfaces between Avaloq and external payment systems, including anti-fraud screening systems and the Finastra payment gateway
  • Customize and extend standard modules for various payment systems and networks (e.g. SIC, SEPA, SWIFT (MT/MX formats, ISO20022), TARGET2/TIPS) to ensure high-quality delivery and adherence to technical standards
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external counterparties to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production payment issues, providing expert-level support to operations and service teams as needed
  • Support testing campaigns and production rollouts
  • Drive innovation and efficiency by integrating modern technologies, such as containerization, microservices, and cloud-native solutions, to enhance the payments domain's scalability, security, and performance
  • Collaborate with Avaloq developers to improve systems and processes continuously, promoting best practices and high-quality delivery

Your Profile

  • Higher education (university / FH) in Computer Science/Business Informatics or a comparable qualification
  • Additional training in Avaloq Certified Professional (ACP) is a plus
  • 5 years of practical experience in the field of Avaloq development
  • First relevant work experience in the payments domain
  • Knowledge in Avaloq is required
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to weigh problems, set priorities and ability to work with various stakeholder
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Strong work ethics, integrity and high level of accountability
  • Willingness to take responsibility
  • Fluency in English; fluency in German is a plus
