We are representing a well-established international financial institution that is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join its internal audit team in their Wealth Management capacity. In this pivotal role, the ideal candidate will independently lead audits across multiple jurisdictions and act as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

  • Plan, lead, and execute end-to-end audits focused on private banking operations, both in Switzerland and abroad (including locations such as Monaco, London, Dubai, and Panama)
  • Deliver clear, structured audit reports and communicate findings effectively to relevant stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on risk mitigation and internal control enhancements
  • Monitor the implementation of agreed audit recommendations and follow up on remediation plans
  • Prepare high-level documentation and summaries for senior management and board-level committees
  • Contribute to internal investigations and cross-departmental projects
  • Serve as subject matter expert for audits related to front office processes, such as cross-border services or investment suitability

Profile:

  • A completed banking apprenticeship or higher education in finance, accounting, or business administration (e.g. University degree, Fachhochschule, CIA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent); audit-specific qualifications are a plus
  • At least 5 years of hands-on audit experience in a banking or Big Four environment, with a focus on private banking and client advisory topics
  • DIRECT/HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN AUDITING WM FRONT-OFFICE ACTIVITIES
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and risk areas in front office activities, particularly cross-border and suitability regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English; knowledge of French or Spanish is advantageous
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with core banking systems (e.g., Avaloq) is a plus
  • Proactive, self-driven mindset with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 40–50 days per year)
