Role Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist
to support and implement safety, environmental, and health programs across our organization. This entry to mid-level position plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as fostering a culture of workplace safety and environmental responsibility.

As an EHS Specialist, you will assist in developing safety policies, conducting inspections, delivering training, and leading incident investigations. You will work closely with operations, facilities, and leadership teams to maintain safe and sustainable work environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, local laws).
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and updating EHS policies, programs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Deliver safety training sessions and onboarding programs for new employees and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Support waste management, chemical handling, emergency preparedness, and environmental reporting activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a safe, compliant, and environmentally conscious workplace.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in EHS, workplace safety, compliance, or a related role.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills; attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to deliver training and work across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with EHS management software is a plus.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, or CSP (or progress toward certification) are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
