Global Head of Storage

**Main Purpose**: The Global Head of Storage will be responsible for managing the overall third party storage lease position for Trafigura, which currently has an overall expenditure of >$1B annually. **Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities**: **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** - Experience in the Energy terminals industry - Strong commercial understanding of market costs and economics - Deep understanding of storage logistics, including warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation, with knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations - Strong leadership skills, with experience in building and managing high-performing teams in a global environment - Proven track record of driving operational excellence in a global commodity trading environment - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus **Key Responsibilities** - Build and implement a data driven strategy to get optimum rates and locations for the Company - Supervise the Storage Approval Process, internal data flows and reporting across all business lines - Develop and implement strategic plans for storage operations to support the company's trading activities and growth objectives - Oversee the management of storage facilities, including warehouses, tanks, and other storage infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards - Optimize inventory management processes to minimize holding costs, optimize utilization, and mitigate risks associated with commodity price fluctuations and market dynamics - Collaborate with trading teams to forecast storage requirements, optimize inventory levels, and develop hedging strategies to manage price risk - Establish and maintain relationships with storage providers, negotiate contracts, and monitor service levels to ensure cost-effective and reliable storage solutions - Lead and develop a high-performing team of storage professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to drive continuous improvement and achieve operational excellence - Monitor industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes affecting storage operations, and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and competitiveness - Prepare regular reports and analysis on storage performance, inventory levels, and operational KPIs, and present findings to senior management to support decision-making **Competencies** - Communicates effectively - manages ambiguity - manages complexity - builds networks - plans and aligns **Key Relationships and Department Overview**: **Key Relationships** - Traders - Accounts - Finance - Insurance - Customers/third party contractors - Deals Desk **Department** Our Operations Department is the backbone of our trading activities, ensuring seamless execution and delivery of commodities worldwide.
