Data Architect

The Central Analytics team fosters a strong data-driven culture in EF Educational Tours, as partners to all the business stakeholders and the entire analytics community. We drive key initiatives to shape the future of data in close collaboration with the Data Platform team, with the support of the product leadership.

As a Data Architect, you will help rearchitect the entire data warehouse of EF Tours as we move to a modern cloud-based data platform, towards a unified solution with strong governance that enables analysts to reduce time-to-insights.

**What you will do**
- Map all the entities and their relationships for each business domain, in collaboration with analytics engineers, software engineers, and business users.
- Work closely with analytics engineers and software engineers to create easy-to-use datasets for each domain.
- Provide support and guidance to analytics engineers around the best practices of data warehousing, including rigorous testing and documentation in code.
- Own governance and standardization for cross-domains interoperability.
- Design and implement an architecture that enables handling of historical information with the data platform team.
- Create and implement plans for teams to migrate from old on-prem sources to new cloud datamarts.

**Who you are**
- You have a vision for data at scale and self-serve data platforms.
- 5+ years designing and building complex data solutions, from conceptual and logical data models to technical implementation.
- Expert in data modelling techniques like Inmon, Kimball, data vaults.
- Familiarity with the concept data mesh is a plus.
- Hands-experience in multiple database and distributed processing technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Prefect, fivetran.
- Understand business processes and how to represent them in relational models.
- Collaborate with technical and end users to build consensus across multiple viewpoints.
- Willing to test alternatives and comfortable with imperfect solutions.
- Explain complicated concepts in simple terms.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
