The Head Back Office does not only play a key role for Alpiq’s successful energy trading business by ensuring legal, regulatory, and financial accuracy and compliance of our transactions, but it’s also an important leadership role with significant people management responsibility. This role is ideal for a senior lead, who understands and appreciates the complexities of the energy trading business, but also enjoys the more strategic aspects, that this role comes with like the demanding change and stakeholder management. This position is to be based at our offices in Olten, Lausanne or Prague. **Your main responsibilities** - Group wide ownership of E2E back office processes along the Alpiq value chain, managing the three areas of Invoicing & Supply, Deal Management, and Regulatory Operations (4 direct reports, >25 in total, in Switzerland and the Czech Republic) - Continuous improvement of Alpiq’s ICS (Internal Control System) and all relevant processes, controls, and systems, oversight over related change projects - Representation of the back office function in cross-functional, operational and strategic projects and initiatives, incl. respective stakeholder management with other senior managers across the business - Efficient talent development and succession planning, creating a great place to work and ensuring stability and business continuity - Leading by example, demonstrating Alpiq company values and leadership principles **Your profile** - Higher education with 8-10 years of relevant professional experience (energy commodity trading background preferred, financial services possible) - Excellent understanding of back office processes in a commodity trading environment (deal-to-report), including the relevant financial, regulatory and IT aspects and interfaces - Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies - Strong drive and independent work style - Above-the-average communication skills, ability to influence people of all levels and all functions, fluent English required, any other language a plus **What is also important to us** **Diversity and inclusion** **Attractive employment conditions** The energy business is a small and complex world and it’s important to us, to use contemporary and attractive employment conditions to attract the best talent.
