- By leveraging our unique and enabling R&D capabilities, we are building a pipeline that includes inhalable medicines, nicotine replacement therapies (NRT), and consumer wellness products.About the roleAs our Global Head Product Development - Consumer Health, you will lead end to end product development for the Consumer Health Category. You will partner with Marketing and Insights to determine product pipeline opportunities for Consumer Health, develop Target Product Profiles that meet identified needs, and lead end to end product development development.
- You will be responsible for ensuring the on time and in full delivery of products to market with associated packaging and claims support documentation. You will also manage continual improvement of product portfolio post launch to ensure compliance, cost optimization and consumer appeal.
- As a key Contributor to the development of the Consumer Health category, you will also support and deliver strategy and effective Category operations.Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure on time deliver of new products to market in line with business goals
- Maintain up to date knowledge of supplement ingredient and API science in order to translate consumer needs into product concepts that deliver required benefits
- Create Target Product Profiles that meet identified consumer needs based on ingredient science and an understanding of what concepts can be successfully executed
- Lead execution of product development activities including formulation / analytical development, sensory evaluation and optimization, claims support studies (including human trials), packaging development and stability, process transfer and scale up and the generation of claims support documentation.
- Chair the Consumer Health Claim Review Committee
- Monitor project risks and intervene if required to maintain project progression
- Prepare management updates on pipeline status and contribute to the preparation of key business documents including stage gate documents, strategy presentations and science and technology updates.
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with teams located at our internal product development facilities and other cross functional partners including those from project management, regulatory, clinical and medical teams
- Build and maintain relationships with external consultants, consultancies and other organizations that offer enabling expertise.
- Contribute to the creation of an agile, collaborative, innovation focused organisation

**Profile**:
- PhD preferably in a life sciences discipline
- Demonstrable industry experience in Consumer Health working on OTC or Supplement products.
- Functional expertise in formulation development, analytical development or packaging development
- Highly creative and able to contribute to the development of product concepts and create science based narratives to support product claims and positioning.
- Broad knowledge of the entire product development process and the cross functional skills required for successful execution
- Proven ability to lead complex Consumer Health product development activities end to end (concept creation to launch)
- Able to rapidly assess and analyse problems and develop solutions.
- Comfort with ambiguity and able to work within a ‘start-up’ culture.
- Strong leadership skill with the ability to unite teams from disparate cultural and functional backgrounds against a common goal.
- Excellent communication skill. Comfortable presenting at all levels and able to adjust style and content to meet requirements.
- Proven ability to collaborate with external teams and to integrate internal and external activities to meet defined goals.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and allocate resources.
