**Overview**:
Key duties (including, but not limited to):
- Recommend prices, structures and strategies for their reinsurance treaties. You will work in an inclusive, fast-paced, and collaborative environment where diverse perspectives are valued:
- Engage in active dialogue with underwriters, brokers, and fellow actuaries, showing an ability to ask insightful questions
- Prepare, analyse, and critically review data from brokers and clients, where the qualitative data is as important as the quantitative data
- Develop and run pricing models, showing your ability to solve novel problems
- Clearly communicate your recommended price and structure to stakeholders, explaining the rationale behind your decisions. They believe in transparency and the value of shared understanding
- Be receptive to feedback on your recommendations, showing adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement by revising work as necessary
- Visit clients and brokers to nurture relationships. Understand their motivations. Clarify their pricing rationale to them. Review their underwriting and claims operations. These activities will enable you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business
**Qualifications required**:
- Maths, Engineering or other applied science degree preferred
**Experience required**:
- Fluent English
- 1-10 years’ experience in an actuarial role (P&C reinsurance preferred but not necessary)
